Year 5 - Anglo Saxon WOW day 🛡️

The children kicked off their history topic by competing a code breaking rune activity, to discover how the Anglo Saxons used the alphabet. They then explored how Anglo Saxon’s protected themselves during battle, specifically looking at the artistry and skill used for shields before creating our own. The children then did their best battle cry and showcased their shields as a group.

Year 2 had a fantastic day exploring Newquay Harbour! 🌊🦭

The children enjoyed an exciting boat trip, visited to the lifeboat station, and made the most of the sunshine with games and ice lollies on the beach. 🌞 RNLI Paddlefish Adventure

Back in March, Shackleton Class planted 6 potatoes. After 14 weeks of watering and caring for them, last week was harvest day!
We dug up lots of potatoes of all sizes, weighed them to find our heaviest, and then enjoyed tasting them after cooking. Everyone agreed they were delicious! 🥔😋

Brunel, your Year 4 residential is complete and what a phenomenal one it was! You were all incredible superstars. Parents, you should be incredibly proud, us adults certainly are 🤩

Over the past three days, we've been on the lookout for 6 children showcasing our ASPIRE values. It was very hard to choose but these children did a wonderful job.

🌋 A problem-solving morning for our final day!
​We’ve been fighting against "lava grass" to get to safety, building shelters that can withhold storm Wilson (Mrs Wilson may have LOVED the hose a lil to much🤣), and working together to guide our ball to the gate and back using only guttering. Both teams showed incredible resilience, teamwork, and communication skills today!

​🎲 Next up: Bingo! Then we'll grab some lunch before loading up the coach for home. What an amazing trip it’s been! 🚌💨 We should be back at school for 1:30 pm 🕑

After a delicious lunch featuring our homemade Cornish fairing biscuits, we took a lovely scenic walk to Botallack! 🥾🌊 We explored the tunnels of Jacob’s Mine and checked out the old engine room. The real highlight, though? The teachers were let loose with the hose on the return to Carnyorth Education Centre 😂🚿
