Flynqy x Aerobility Charity 2026 is officially underway! ✈️

Today, four incredible participants took to the skies at Cornwall Airport Newquay, getting hands-on in a light aircraft with our instructor Mike as part of this fantastic joint aviation weekend.

A huge well done to Michael, Archie, Jon and Madoc for taking the controls and experiencing the freedom and excitement of flight. We hope you all had an amazing time - and who knows, perhaps we’ll see some of you back in the air again soon!

What a fantastic way to kick off another year of accessible aviation collaboration. 💙✈️

Congratulations to Harry, who completed his PPL(A) Qualifying Cross Country to Exeter and Land’s End on 6 August! ✈️

Harry is already a very experienced microlight pilot and is now taking the next step in his flying journey, upgrading from his NPPL / LAPL to a full PPL(A) with us here at Flynqy Pilot Training.

Another fantastic milestone under his belt - well done, Harry! PPL Skill Test up next! 👏✈️

There’s just over three weeks to go until the fantastic team from Aerobility Charity join us for another flying weekend at Cornwall Airport Newquay, with flight experiences taking place from 11th-13th September! ✈️

There are still a limited number of spaces available across the weekend, offering the opportunity to experience the freedom and magic of flight in a light aircraft.

Wow, what a summer we’ve had so far! Our students have been working incredibly hard, and we’ve definitely got a few achievements to catch up on! ☀️

Starting with a huge congratulations to Tristan Young, who successfully passed his PPL(A) Skill Test with examiner Mark Annette at the end of July! 🎉

For Tristan, this marks the completion of the first stage of his Commercial Pilot Training, and we’re looking forward to supporting him through the next step - hour building.

Congratulations, Tristan - a fantastic achievement and very well deserved!

A massive well done to Tristan, who successfully completed his Solo Cross-Country Qualifier flight to Land's End and Exeter earlier this week in G-BOOF! ✈️

Widely regarded as one of the most demanding flights of the PPL course, Tristan took it all in his stride despite the added challenge of the soaring temperatures.

If you're planning to see the iconic FlyaSpitfire.com Spitfires and P-51 Mustang during their visit to Cornwall Airport Newquay from 27 July to 2 August, please use the official viewing area.

To help keep surrounding roads clear and ensure emergency access routes remain unobstructed, a dedicated viewing area has been created where you can safely watch the aircraft throughout the week.

See them parked on stand, hear them start up, and catch them taxiing for take-off, all from just behind our fence in this exclusive safe space.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome the newest member of the Flynqy Pilot Training fleet - G-BCIR, already affectionately known as Irene! ✈️

A beautifully equipped PA28-151 (Modified) Warrior with a glass cockpit, she has spent many years training pilots with our partners at Aerobility Charity. With a freshly overhauled engine and propeller, stunning new paintwork, and a fresh Annual and ARC courtesy of our friends at Airtime Paint & Fast Aviation - Light Aircraft Refinishing & Maintenance, she's ready to begin her next chapter at Cornwall Airport Newquay.

We're confident she will provide many years of enjoyable and reliable flying for our students and members, and we can't wait to see her helping the next generation of pilots take to the skies.

We have a little engine running-in to complete before she's available for full training, but she's immediately available for selected flight experiences, navigation flights, IMC training, and EFIS training for pilots already checked out on G-BOOF.

Jasmine certainly made the most of the beautiful flying conditions this weekend, successfully completing her first solo circuit on Saturday in our Cessna 150, G-AYRO! ✈️🎉

The timing couldn't have been better, as Jasmine had just been volunteering at the TECgirls Reach for the Sky Festival, helping to inspire young people to explore opportunities in aviation. What better way to follow that than by achieving one of the most memorable milestones in any pilot's journey?

Joining an incredible range of aviation, aerospace, and engineering organisations, we'll be helping to inspire hundreds of young people to explore careers in aviation, technology, and engineering.

Not only will we be talking about the journey to the flight deck and how Flynqy Pilot Training can help you take your first steps into aviation, but we'll also be representing our fantastic partners at Aerobility and sharing details of the exciting accessible aviation events we have planned together for 2026.
