Today, our goal was to release the painted lady butterflies that had been residing in the nature steps cabin. We watched as they transformed from caterpillars to chrysalises and then emerged as butterflies. It was an incredible experience and truly a magical moment.π¦

Today, we witnessed the incredible transformation of Painted Lady Butterflies emerging from their chrysalises in the cabin. We were captivated by these enchanting creatures and naturally wondered what they needed as they awoke and dried their wings. The childrenβs insightful suggestions led us to believe they needed food, especially rotten fruit! Armed with this knowledge, we ventured into the woods to craft butterfly and moth feeders using sticks twine and fruit. We also considered the ideal locations for hanging them. ππ¦

Following our group's desire for a fire. We decided to indulge ourselves by melting some chocolate for dipping our apples. π

Exploring the emergency services!
In line with this theme, we chose to create some flames using warm paint colours, which we can then extinguish with water from a hose, just like firefighters do! π₯π
