🎉Congratulations to this week's Citizens and TLA Ticket Winners!🎉

It was wonderful to celebrate the achievements of our children during this morning's assembly, after another busy and exciting week at Team Trenance.

This week also saw an unforgettable learning experience for our Year 2 children as we brought Cornwall's rich mining heritage to life at Trenance!

Children and staff fully embraced the experience by dressing up in mining-themed outfits and taking part in a range of exciting activities throughout the day.

From panning for gold and creating Davy lamps, to baking delicious rock cakes and exploring fascinating mining artefacts, our children were fully immersed in Cornwall's rich mining heritage. They also enjoyed a special session with Clint from Geevor Tin Mine Museum, who brought along a selection of artefacts from Geevor's unique collection. These helped bring history to life as he shared stories about life at the mine and even performed songs on the guitar. To top it all off, every child went home with their very own gemstone! ⛏️

A huge thank you to Clint and everyone at Geevor Tin Mine for providing such an inspirational and engaging experience for our children. Learning truly came to life and it was a day to remember. ✨

Team Trenance would like to say a huge well done to a selection of our Year 1 children who took part in a Climbing Event at Treviglas Academy this afternoon.

We are so proud of how brave, determined and enthusiastic they were as they challenged themselves, learnt new climbing skills and showed great resilience throughout the afternoon. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they stepped out of their comfort zones and gave everything a go!

A big thank you to Treviglas for hosting such a brilliant event and to the fantastic Treviglas Sport Leaders for supporting and working so brilliantly with our children. ✨

🎉 Congratulations to this week’s Citizens and TLA Ticket winners! We are so proud of you all and it was wonderful to celebrate your achievements during Friday’s Celebration Assembly! 🎉

We are also very proud of our Year 1 children who took part in another Community Classroom session, this time visiting the Harbour and RNLI as part of their History learning.

The children discovered all about the RNLI and the Harbour Mission, learning how Ellen James supported Newquay’s fishermen in 1883 and exploring the important role of the Harbour Mission today. They also found out about the vital work the RNLI continues to do in keeping our community safe.

Throughout this term, the children have impressed us with their enthusiasm, curiosity and thoughtful questions during their Community Classroom sessions. These learning experiences have helped them deepen their understanding, make meaningful connections to their learning and develop a greater appreciation of the history, people and community of Newquay. 🌟

🌟 Congratulations to last week’s Citizens and TLA Ticket winners! 🌟
It was another busy and brilliant week for Team Trenance. Year 1 enjoyed their first Community Classroom session with a visit to the Boating Lake. Building on their history learning about the importance of fishing in Newquay’s past, the children explored the area and discussed its links to the town’s fishing heritage. A huge thank you to Newquay Boating Lake for kindly hosting us and to Under The Canopy Cornwall for their fantastic support in helping to make these sessions such a rich and memorable experience for the children.

Year 2 were also thrilled to welcome local author Ellie Jackson into school this week. Ellie kindly offered a whole-school book signing, giving children a special keepsake to treasure. She also led a creative workshop for Year 2, where pupils explored storytelling, imagination and the natural world through her inspiring books.

There has also been great excitement in Foundation as baby caterpillars arrived in each class! The children are taking on the important role of caring for them and observing them closely as they grow and change. This has sparked lots of brilliant discussion and curiosity about life cycles, transformation and the natural world, as the children watch the caterpillars eat, grow and eventually form chrysalises before (hopefully!) emerging as butterflies!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend ✨.
