Little Lambs Childcare is a home based childcare setting based in Newquay, Cornwall!

Situated in between the Gannel estuary and Fistral beach, we use our beautiful local surroundings and community within the children’s learning on a daily basis. We visit sources of interest which encourage the children to be resourceful, inventive and creative.

We wrapped up our week with a lovely stroll along the coast path, enjoying the fresh sea air, taking in the views and spotting plenty of birds along the way 🌊🐦

There’s something so special about getting outdoors together, little hands to hold, lots to see and plenty of time for chatting, exploring and enjoying our beautiful surroundings 🥰

🍂 The children have been getting stuck into some lovely autumn inspired painting today, using leaves and conkers alongside lots of gorgeous seasonal colours. 🧡💛❤️

There was plenty of exploring, experimenting and getting wonderfully messy as they painted, printed and investigated the different textures and patterns in the natural materials. 🍃🖌️

Such a simple activity, but so much lovely learning through play, creativity, fine motor skills, colour recognition and lots of concentration too! 🥰

A lovely day of learning through play today! We’ve enjoyed sharing stories together, heading out for a walk and exploring our surroundings, before bringing some of our nature finds back to use in our craft activities. 🍂🌲

🍂 🌿 Nature counting! 🌿🍂

The children had a lovely time exploring outdoors and collecting all sorts of natural treasures along the way, sticks, leaves, feathers, conkers and lots more! 🪵🍃

Back at Little Lambs, we used some of our finds for counting and number recognition, matching quantities to numbers and practising our counting skills in a fun, hands-on way 🥰

A lovely little activity combining outdoor exploring, curiosity and early maths learning! ❤️

📚 ✨ Our first trip back to Newquay Library of the term! ✨📚

We had such a lovely morning visiting the library again and seeing the lovely Jo for story time! 🥰 The children loved listening, joining in and exploring lots of books together.

It’s always such a lovely outing and a brilliant way to encourage a love of books and stories from an early age. We’re already looking forward to next week! 📖💛

🎈 Little Lambs is 14! 🎈

This week marks 14 years of Little Lambs Childcare and the beginning of our 15th year! 🐑🤍

It’s hard to believe how much has changed since we started back in 2012, but the heart of Little Lambs has always stayed the same. Creating a happy, nurturing, home-from-home where little ones can learn, play and thrive. 🥰

Over the years we’ve had the privilege of caring for so many wonderful children and families, and watching our tiny Lambs grow up is incredibly special. 🥹

A huge thank you to our amazing team, past and present, and to every family who has trusted us with their little ones along the way. ❤️

Here’s to 14 wonderful years and the start of our 15th year! 🐑🎂🫧

🚒🔥 A very exciting visit to Newquay Fire Station today! 🔥🚒

Our Little Lambs had the BEST time getting a behind-the-scenes look at some of our amazing local emergency services! ❤️

The children were able to explore the fire engines and emergency vehicles, try on some of the equipment, sit in the driver’s seat, meet members of the Coastguard and Police, and even get up close to the blood bikes! 🚒🚓🏍️🛟

There were so many excited little faces and lots of brilliant questions along the way! Experiences like this are such a lovely way for the children to learn more about the important people who help to keep us safe in our community, all while building their confidence and curiosity. 🥰

A HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to chat to the children, show them the equipment and make them feel so welcome. We think this might be a trip they’ll be talking about for a while! 🤩

☀️ Learning in the sunshine 🌿✏️
What a gorgeous morning for our Little Lambs! 🐑💛

We headed out for a lovely walk before finding the perfect sunny spot to stop for a snack and some outdoor drawing. The children enjoyed taking in everything around them and putting their own ideas onto paper ✏️🌊
