Bonne année à toutes et à tous 🥳
Just a little note to say that we're starting back this coming week, so please get in touch if you'd like to join us either for a group class or for a private session. I will leave the groups open for a couple more weeks, so you're welcome to ask questions and have a bit more time to consider the different options available.
🎲📖🎥 I'll be continuing to host a regular games night, which has been a great source of fun and community over the winter and also a book and film club, so please get in touch if these are of interest.
Que votre année soit remplie de bonheur, de paix et de bonne santé.
Amy 😊🇹🇩🗼

Wishing you all un très Joyeux noël! 🥳🥂 Looking forward to starting our French online groups and private classes again in January. We've all had such a blast this year. All levels available. Day and evening options. Gift vouchers also available 🎁 Get in touch for more details 🎄❄️ 😄
Some words from current and past students:
"Love your classes and I'm learning so much."
"A great range of subjects covered and lots of conversational French."
"Amy has been my French teacher for a couple of months now and I couldn't be happier - clearly I improved massively. She is very patient and tries her best to tailor-made the classes in a way that is suitable for my profile. Classes always are as fun as it can be (with music or games) and has fair amount of grammar. And in the end of each class, she shares all the notes and vocabulary on my email. I strongly recommend her!"
"I have been working with Amy since February 2019. I was initially apprehensive about online tutoring and I felt nervous about having another crack at conquering French after (many) failed attempts.
As it turns out, I shouldn't have been worried at all. Amy really is a superb teacher and I am growing in confidence in my ability to learn French. New grammatical rules, verb conjunction and the passé compos é are all small fry thanks to Amy. True, my speaking and listening requires improvement but with Amy I am confident in what I can say and know that I will continue to grow and learn week by week. Whenever I am struggling, Amy breaks down each syllable of every word and repeats it with me. This has helped me enormously. Amy also structures the lessons around my interests as well as around my strengths and areas for improvement.
In conclusion, I would recommend Amy wholeheartedly to anyone who is looking to learn or improve French. Amy is a natural teacher; she is reliable, friendly and dedicated to her students. She has a whole wealth of knowledge and is extremely patient- thank god!
I look forward to working with Amy as I continue my learning journey."
"Amy has been great with my two kids in their lessons (aged 8 and 6). They are really enjoying the sessions and Amy always comes up with new and interesting ways for them to learn - thank you."
"Amy has been a French tutor for both me and my 11 year old daughter for the last month. My daughter had dropped French at school as she did not enjoy it. Amy is a very calm and patient tutor and has various ways of teaching the subject which I think is really important. She has helped both me and my daughter to learn French and it has really made me realise how important it is to have a tutor in order to progress with the language. My daughter is now really taking an interest in a subject she would have otherwise not have continued with and this is a direct result of having Amy as our tutor. Thanks Amy, your a star ⭐️"
"My son is really enjoying his lessons with Amy , and we are certain that he will achieve the grade he wants in his exams next year !"
"Amy is a very professional tutor. She is also patient and understanding. I would recommend her fo this particular course in particular. Thanks."
"Very friendly and easy to talk to, Amy has made my learning a fun and engaging process. I've had trouble in the past keeping focused on the daunting task of learning a new language but Amy has introduced a lot of ways to stay interested in learning and to keep progressing."

My favourite French Christmas album of all time is Ginette Reno's Noël avec Ginette Reno - 1969 (which you can find easily also on youtube and spotify). Here's one that we were singing in class last night🥳 lyrics in the comments below if you'd like to hold your own French singalong. Great for learning vocab and sentence structure 🎄❄️⛄️

Salut tout le monde,
For those of you that have yet to meet me in person, here I am in my little beach town on the South-west coast of England. I've had the pleasure of teaching French classes and courses for over 10 years now and enjoy it very much, having taught not only privately but also for Cornwall Council and various language schools. My style is relaxed and is really about finding what connects you to and inspires you about the French language and culture, so that you have fun learning and will continue to immerse yourselves throughout your week. This learning immersion is further aided by my homework emails, packed full of relevant and inspiring exercises and media content.
** There are a few final spots left on my following courses:
Improvers: Tuesdays @ 6pm gmt
Beginners: Wednesdays @ 3pm gmt
***Private classes are available too, so please get in touch for more details.
Stay safe and well ☺️
A très bientôt,
Amy

***Info about upcoming online courses***
Bonjour tout le monde :)
I hope you've all been having some wonderful summer moments despite the current restrictions and challenges. I know a lot of you won't have had your usual time in France this year but not to worry, your opportunities for further French speaking practice and culture immersion is not in the least bit lost for the coming year.
Other than my Adult Education courses for Cornwall Council and private classes, I've decided to run some more online group courses this year. I'll be keeping the numbers very low: 3-6 people only, as I want to be able to see and hear you all and give you as much 121 time and feedback as possible.
I'll be running an Absolute Beginners class, an Experienced Beginners class and an Improvers class. These classes all come with a fun and helpful weekly email full of resources to keep you immersed and learning throughout the week. How much you do is totally up to you however, we all have different workloads and availability, so there's never any pressure.
The BEGINNERS CLASS will be a step by step progressive class to enable you all to be confidently getting to know the French basics. This will include introducing yourself, looking at themed vocabulary around everyday life, our professions, age, weather, numbers, french culture as well as the practical things of how to order drinks, and food in restaurants, ask for directions and tickets for events and travel. We will do this by using all kinds of resources including role play, games, grammar exercises, videos and music.
The EXPERIENCED BEGINNERS class will have a lot more basic conversation practice and role play. We will explore popular daily life practical themes and discuss these in the group and in pairs, for half the class and explore necessary and relavent grammar points for the second half. This is a really great way for me to get to know exactly where you're at and to help correct gaps in knowledge and pronunciation as we go along. The closest things to a 121 in a group setting as you can get, with the advantage of practicing with peers.
The IMPROVERS class will have a more in depth, flowing and experienced conversation practice and role plays. Here we will discuss some daily practicalities but also hold a space for more cultural themed discussion, developing language and ease around sharing personal experiences, feelings and thoughts. We will explore popular themes and discuss these in the group and in pairs for half the class and explore grammar points for the second half. This is a really great way for me to get to know exactly where you're at and to help correct gaps in knowledge and pronunciation as we go along. The closest things to a 121 in a group setting as you can get, with the advantage of practicing with peers.
With all the classes, there will be a wide range of fun educational media and resources, that will be expanding, inspirational and very relavent to you. My speciality accrued, from over a decade of teaching, is to create a space of easeful and fun learning, where everyone is welcome and has the support to improve greatly. By making sure that you have the right inspirational materials, the learning happens by itself and there is no need for any huge effort or stress. I have helped students that have almost given up, unable to find something that worked for them but also people with learning disorders, brain injuries and mental health difficulties. My experience, patience and resolve to support and help my students is vast, so do come and join in, wherever you're at in your French learning journey.
The classes will be £15 per class (1 hour 45mins), either all to be paid in full at the start of the term, or by a payment plan, over the duration of the course. There will be a daytime and an evening option for all three classes during the week and these will be starting in the second week of September. Please get in touch with your schedule preferences while the groups are still forming. Exact dates will be posted shortly.
A très bientôt :)
Amy
