☀️ Bringing Power to Outdoor Learning! ☀️

​We are excited to share our latest PTA purchase for the school! Thanks to your continued support at our fundraising events, we’ve purchased a Jackery Solar Generator - a portable power station for our teachers and students! 🔋🌲

​This means teachers can now plug in laptops, projectors, speakers, and other equipment anywhere on the school grounds, making outdoor lessons, forest school activities, and open-air events easier than ever.

Your support directly funds equipment like this to enrich our children’s learning environment, so as always, a big thank you! 💚👏

🚨 ATTENTION PARENTS, GUARDIANS, NANS, GRANDAD'S, AUNTIES, UNCLES AND GOLDFISH! (Maybe not the Goldfish 👀)🚨

​Mark your calendars: Tuesday 8th September at 3:30pm is our PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM)!

​We know what you’re thinking: "An AGM? Sounds like a thrilling afternoon of reading financial spreadsheets," but ​we promise standard adult conversation and the warm, fuzzy feeling of helping our school community. But mostly, we are desperately looking for fresh hands to share the load.

​To be completely honest with you:
🌹 ​Our hands are getting arthritis from hand-tying 200 packets of Love Heart sweets to individual roses every Valentine’s Day.
🌬️ ​Our lung capacity is being tested to its absolute limit every Halloween by blowing up what feels like 8,000 orange, black and red balloons.
🥥 Our joints aren't as nimble as they used to be so bending down to collect coconuts every single time someone knocks them down at the Summer Fete is becoming a serious athletic challenge!

​We are running out of breath, wrist flexibility, and sheer stamina.

​We need YOU! Whether you can offer 30 minutes a term, help run a single stall, take on a small role, or simply share some fresh ideas (or bring decent lung capacity for balloon duty), every bit makes a massive difference for the kids.

​Come for the quick update, stay for the company, and leave knowing you saved a PTA member from a repetitive strain injury.

Gaer Primary School PTA AGM Coming Soon! 📣✨

​Keep your eyes peeled. We will be announcing the date for our upcoming PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM) very soon!

​What is an AGM? 💡
Our AGM is a short annual meeting where we reflect on the past school year, celebrate what we’ve achieved, review how our fundraising money was spent, and elect our committee members for the year ahead. (Although this past year we had one woman in shining armour doing all 3 roles!) It’s a great way to get a clear picture of how the PTA supports our school community and everyone is invited! 🤝

Whether you’ve been involved for years or your child just started at Gaer Primary, we would love to see you there.
​There is zero pressure to commit to anything. You can choose to officially join the PTA team, or simply come along to listen, share your ideas, and let us know what events or projects you’d like to see this year.

​Stay tuned for the official date and time announcement. We can't wait to work together to make this year amazing for our children! 💙

Thanks to your continued support, here is a breakdown of what we were able to fund across the year:

​🪩 Seasonal Events & Discos: Hosted both the Halloween and Valentine’s discos, fully covering the DJ, decorations, food, drinks, lucky dip, and game prizes.

​🎅 Christmas Magic: Arranged magical gifts directly from Santa, alongside hiring a festive magic mirror for photos with the man himself.

​🚌 Pantomime Transport: Covered the coach travel to get all pupils safely to and from the pantomime trip.

​🐣 Easter Celebrations: Provided Easter eggs for every child, plus larger prize eggs for our competition winners.

​🧩 Classroom & Club Upgrades: Purchased new resources and games for Breakfast Club, sports football goals, and a portable power pack to support outdoor learning lessons.

​🏆 Sports & End-of-Year Celebrations: Supplied treats and drinks for Sports Day, Tiptops for all pupils, pre-Oscars party treats, and refreshments for the Oscars ceremony.

​⛺ School Events & Equipment: Invested in 2 gazebos and a two in one inflatable axe-throwing and soccer blast game for school events.

​🍔 Summer Fete: Provided all the food, drinks, game prizes, and additional raffle prizes to make our annual Summer Fete a success.

​🍿 Student Gifts & Rewards: Funded the Penny Wars class prize, as well as birthday cards and birthday gifts for every single child throughout the school year.

​💳 PTA Operations: Purchased a modern SumUp machine to enable easier card payments at all our future events!

​Every ticket bought, raffle played, and penny donated goes straight back into making school a memorable experience for all our children. Thank you again for your incredible support during the last academic year! 💙

A HUGE thank you to our amazing school community, parents, carers, teachers, and pupils! Thanks to your incredible support, generosity, and enthusiasm, we raised a fantastic £6,534.71 over the past academic year! 🌟

🎃 Halloween Disco: £945.72
🎄 Christmas Fayre: £1,530.92
🎅 Santa Visits: £935.00
👕 February Non-Uniform Day: £247.15
❤️ Valentines Disco: £977.90
🥤 Sports Day Drinks: £204.50
👕 July Non-Uniform Day: £232.00
☀️ Summer Fete & Raffle: £1,022.87
🪙 Penny Wars: £361.55
🏆 Oscars Drinks: £77.10

Whether you bought a raffle ticket, volunteered at a stall, sent your kids in non-uniform, or came along to dance at the discos, every single penny goes directly back into enriching our children’s school experience.
We couldn’t do it without you and we can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together next year! ❤️👏

(While the total raised from these events reflects our overall income, please note that expenses were incurred throughout the year to host and support them, so this figure represents the gross total rather than our final profit)

Look who we spotted delivering joy to the school! 💛 Two of our dedicated PTA members were seen with arms full of magical, gift-filled, golden birthday bags, and we are happy to announce that they have now successfully arrived in the classrooms!

​Remember our update from last week? Our amazing PTA (supported by your incredible donations! 🙏) has purchased a birthday card and a special gift for every single child this academic year. Well, they are here and ready to go!

​We are so excited for all our pupils to pick out their special birthday treats on their big day. It's just our small way of making every student feel celebrated.

​Important Reminder! If your child has a birthday coming up on a weekend or during a half term/holiday, please make sure they remind their teacher. We want to ensure everyone gets their moment of celebration and doesn't miss out on their goodies!

​We can't wait to see those smiley faces when they have a fuss made of them on their special day! 🥳🎂

🎉 Just a friendly reminder from your PTA about our birthday card and gift scheme for this academic year! Every single child in the school gets to pick out a small gift for their big day. 🥳🎁

🎈 Weekend, Inset Day & Half-Term Birthdays: If your child's birthday falls on a weekend, inset day or during a school holiday, please remind them to let their teacher know so they don't miss out on their goodies!

☀️ We hope you all had a fantastic summer holiday filled with fun, rest, and plenty of sunshine!

​As we gear up for the new term, here is a quick reminder of how the first week back looks:
​Monday, 31st August: Bank Holiday (School Closed)

​Tuesday, 1st September: Staff INSET Day (School Closed to pupils)

​Wednesday, 2nd September: FIRST DAY OF TERM! 🎒

​We can't wait to jump into another brilliant academic year packed with fun events, exciting activities, and special treats for the kids!

We look forward to seeing all those bright, smiling faces back through the gates on Wednesday morning.
