Hello I’m Liv!

The owner and creator of Liv’s/ Boxfit, based in Newport!

I started Boxfit in April 2023! With an all ladies group! After good success and over 60 members joining me within the first 6 months I decided to expand and add on a weekday class open to all! Ladies, men, children, all abilities and complete in inclusivity!

I pride myself on creating a community, where people see Livs Boxfit as a fitness family as well as a place to learn Boxfit skills and keep active!

Mental health plays a massive part in what I promote here!

There is no better way to express emotion, than through contact fitness sport, like Boxfit, in a safe controlled environment whilst also feeling like a team!
We’ve helped so many people blossom both of them the last year, we’ve had amazing fitness stories, weight loss journeys, confidence building and several members have joined us diagnosed with autism, and have grown incredibly since joining the group!

I would like to extend my thanks to Shihan Kawasoe JKAWF and Sensei's, Stuart, John and Martin of the JKAWF-England/ETKF on the Black & Brown Belt course held at Windsor 2nd March 2024, it was great to see them all again alongside Sensei's Alun & Gwyn and co, from the JKAWF-Wales/WTKF, it was a great day of training/grading and I am pleased to announce that I passed my San Dan, not something I thought I would ever achieve.

I also will like to personally thank Sensei David and Sanpai Dylan for all you help getting my mindset into the correct mode and those extra training sessions as well of course as Sensei Gwyn's lovely words of wisdom ending with, 'not gonna wish you good luck, just get on and do it' or words to that effect, which by the way worked a treat.

Unfortunately I had to leave before myself and Sensei David was able to get stuck into the Referee's course held on Sunday 3rd March, will have to do this another time.

As always at these events there are a large number of participants and acquaintances new and old with names I simply can't remember who wished me luck and later congratulated me afterwards, thank-you all.

The latest JKA WF course has been confirmed at the location in Windsor Leisure Centre. It is open to all current JKA WF and The Newport Karate Centre/WTKF members.

Saturday 2nd March 2024

Training with Kawasoe Sensei followed by a grading.

This is essential for those grades 4th/5th Kyu (Purple). The training is very very useful to our karateka to ensure you start preparing for higher grades and to enhance the understanding of technique.

Sunday 3rd March 2024

An additional session on the Sunday for those interested in competition or refereeing.

Squad/Competition and Referee training. This is for students who want to improve their competition skill and/or people who want to practice their judging and refereeing.

It will consist of a theory session outlining the main competition rules for kata/kumite and a practical session to practice the theory.

This course is open to all JKA WF/WTKF members. People wishing to do kumite at the end bring mits and gum shields. Referees please bring a whistle.
