Update from Stay & Play at Millbrook Primary School

Thank you to those of you who completed the questionnaire regarding childcare requirements at Stay & Play Millbrook.

The findings demonstrated the demand for childcare was high, I aimed to plan ahead and propose reopening during the coming months. I submitted the findings to the governors of Millbrook Primary School for discussion within their meeting on the 30/4/22

Following on from this meeting, I was provided with an update that the club will no longer be permitted to operate from the school indefinitely.

This is very disappointing for the business after 14 years operating from the school and I feel that this will be a great loss to the families within the Bettws community.

I thank you for your support over the years. I will continue to support families where possible within my Stay & Play provisions throughout the Newport county.

Dear Parents, unfortunately we got the news yesterday that the Head teacher and governors of Milbrook will not allow Stay and Play to open just yet. They said they will review the situation in the next governors meeting, not sure if it that is going to be before or after Christmas. We have tried everything to get the club back open as we know so many of you rely on it even asking Ifor Hael if they could accommodate us and that was no aswell. We will be in touch as soon as we hear if and when we can reopen. Apologies once again. STAY AND PLAY

Qualifications/experience required: Childcare Level 2 or 3 desirable, Playwork qualification, First Aid and Food Hygeine also desirable

Description of duties: Supporting the Person in Charge within the After School Club to provide fun, enthusiastic play at the end of the school day.

Description of duties: General day to day club responsibilities. Ensuring the setting is running in line with the policies and procedures. National Minimum Standards for Childcare Completion of Quality of Care review annually, booking attendance and ensuring the setting is providing hygiene and covid safe environment

Hi All I hope you are all well ??
I am still waiting for a date to reopen and have been given no indication of when this will be, it's very frustrating for all of us especially you as parents that need childcare, I am trying my best and hope to see all your wonderful children back at club soon. X

Apologies but Due to circumstances beyond our control we have to close Stay and Play for the foreseeable future. We hope to be back up and running as soon as it is possible and will keep you updated. Stay safe everyone x

Dont forget tomorrow is our pyjama and movie session! Children can bring their pjs/onsies and we will be providing popcorn! 🍿🍿

Stay and Play at Lliswerry primary school (after school club) are looking for someone aged 18+ who would be interested in doing an apprenticeship, 12 hours a week, working towards a childcare qualification.

Children aged 3-11 enjoy safe stimulating play opportunities within an equal opportunity framework.

The successful applicant will work closely with the senior playworker to ensure the legal obligations as set out in the relevant regulations are met and to ensure that children are safe and well cared for. Liaising with relevant statutory and non statutory agencies and individuals.
