We’re delighted to announce that the England Talent ID Discover my talent is returning to the Isle of Wight – and once again it’s completely FREE! 🙌

These events are highly sought after across the country, with players regularly travelling across the Solent for opportunities like this. Thanks to our partnership, we’ve brought it right here to the Isle of Wight.

Coach Alfie has availability for 1-2-1 sessions on Wednesday 5th August:

It’s been a brilliant first week of the holidays supporting the Isle of Wight Community Sports Coaching team, working with so many young players and helping create great experiences through sport 🌟

Now we’re excited to get back to UCanPlay and kick off our very own girls football camps next week 🧡💚⚽️

A summer full of football, fun, challenges and development starts here… we can’t wait to welcome everyone onto the pitch! 👊🔥

Alfie at UCanPlay has stepped in to support us these last two days at camp and I can’t thank him enough.
From the outside I really don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for what he tries to deliver for the girls on the island.
He’s innovative and creative with his ideas.
His ethos follows our inclusion values which isn’t intrusive of other providers in girls football.
It’s a source of football for so many whether you’re in a team or not.
He’s got a huge England Talent ID event coming up on the Island again for the girls and You can’t take these things for granted.

Bringing new coaches to the Island is a breath of fresh air, and as a community we have to get behind whatever coaching providers deliver.
That stretch of water makes things even harder for us, while the limited venues we have also challenges what we all do.

Alfie has a new program coming for school years 3/4 also and if your daughter is looking for an exit route in football other than school than get in touch or book on to one of his camps or events.

We’re a huge supporter of what he does, how he is as a person and Robbie and I fully endorse what he provides.

⚽ Cowes Community FC are recruiting! ⚽

After an incredible first season, Cowes Community FC are excited to be expanding for the 2026/27 season!

Following the successful launch of their first girls’ team, Cowes Thunder, the club are now looking for current Year 3 & 4 girls (moving into Years 4 & 5 this September) to join their next team.

💙 A welcoming club with a fantastic team of passionate coaches.
⚽ A fun, positive environment where player development comes first.
🌟 A growing squad with some brilliant players already signed up who have fantastic attitudes and love the game.
📈 An exciting opportunity to be part of a club that’s continuing to grow girls’ football on the Isle of Wight.

At UCanPlay, we’ve loved watching Cowes Community FC establish their first girls’ team and are excited to see the club continue to grow by giving even more girls the opportunity to play football.

🦁⚽ THE ISLE OF WIGHT TALENT PATHWAY CONTINUES ⚽🦁

Since our first England football team Talent ID sessions on the Island, we’ve already seen players progress further within the pathway, with a number of players being earmarked for further opportunities and continued observation.

Sian and the England Talent ID team have been incredibly excited by the talent they’ve seen on the Isle of Wight — and that’s exactly why we’re so proud to now have an ongoing partnership, bringing regular visits and sessions to the Island.

This is more than just one session. It’s about creating opportunities, giving girls the chance to showcase their ability, and proving that incredible football talent can come from anywhere.

If you attended a previous session and didn’t hear anything afterwards, please don’t let that stop you from coming back. Football journeys take time, and every opportunity is another chance to learn, improve and show what you can do.

Come and be part of something special. Help us showcase how brilliant the Isle of Wight is and inspire the next generation of girls to believe in what’s possible. 🌟

👕👟 UCanPlay Boot Bank & Kit Exchange 👟👕

As part of our upcoming Open Day at the Isle of Wight Community Club, we’re launching our Boot Bank & Kit Exchange to help make football more accessible for every girl.

We’re looking for donations of:
⚽ Second-hand football boots
👕 Football shirts, shorts and socks
🧥 Training wear and other football kit

If you have any kit that’s no longer needed but still has plenty of life left in it, we’d love to give it a new forever home.

You can either:

A huge congratulations to our very own Jasper on being named Senior Sports Personality of the Year 2026 at Official Cowes Enterprise College! 🏆🧡

This award couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person. Jasper is an outstanding young coach who gives so much to our girls every single week. His positivity, patience and willingness to help others make a huge difference, and he’s a fantastic role model both on and off the pitch.

The words used in his award say it all – commitment, dedication, resilience, determination and outstanding sportsmanship. Those are exactly the qualities we see every time he coaches with us.

We’re incredibly proud to have Jasper as part of the UCanPlay family and can’t wait to see everything he goes on to achieve.
