My little Daisy May making me so proud doing her hydro with Westmac Canine Therapies 🥹🐕

When I adopted Daisy we soon learnt she couldn’t walk far on her back left leg, x-rays showed she had a pretty bad knee injury when she was in Romania and hip dysplasia 🩻

In our first year we built her muscle up enough for her to be able to walk basically like normal, for long periods (with me saying mind your leg everytime she charges around the field 🙃), without an operation 🎉

To aid her muscle growth and movement as she gets older, to try and prevent as much stiffness as possible I started her ‘swimming lessons’ again and I can’t recommend Westmac in Newport enough!

Vicky is brilliant and has a whole pack of dogs herself, mostly rescues so is so good with my nervous girl! Daisy makes me proud every day taking it all in her stride whilst giving me the occasional side eye for making her do yet another activity 👀🥰

A little look at our typical day in daycare 🐾

We are regularly asked:
🐕 are walks included in the daily rate? YES we enjoy being out in the farm all day if we can, no extra charge (as is washes, photos, treats & birthday parties 🎈)
😴 do the dogs get rest? YES, we have 2 scheduled downtimes a day which the dogs love, so they’re not overstimulated and tired
🏡 do you have indoor spaces? YES, we wouldn’t have a licence without it - our licence requires indoor areas for separation in an emergency, specific temperatures, adequate rest areas and protection from weather (amongst other things)

Anyone who knows us knows our routine is life - including new meet and greets, and our licence inspector when he came for the annual inspection couldn’t believe the dogs at nap time, and took a photo via our cameras 😆📸

All these are normal for us, and it’s important when choosing care for your dog that the basics are in place, for them to feel settled, secure and happy ❣️

🐾 RECRUITING DOG DAYCARE COVER STAFF MEMBER TO JOIN OUR TEAM 🐾

This role would suit someone who has experience working with groups of dogs and is comfortable managing different personalities and energy levels.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has previous experience working with groups of dogs 
• Is proactive, calm, confident and observant with dog behaviour 
• Is reliable and flexible, sometimes for short-notice cover
• enjoys working in a team
•has good customer service skills 

You’ll be working in a friendly environment with a team who genuinely care about the dogs in our care 🐶
