Our Level 1 and Level 2 culinary wizards recently faced their synoptic tests, whipping up everything from sizzling grilled vegetable skewers π’ to decadent beef bourguignon. π₯©π·
The Level 1 chefs impressed us with dishes like poached haddock with spinach and a creamy mornay sauce ππΏ, a vibrant cassoulet with red peppers and beans πΆοΈπ², and homemade cannelloni pasta π. Well done to all for the delicious dishes! π
Meanwhile, our Level 2 students expanded their horizons with a trip to the bustling Hotel & Catering Show at the Excel Centre in London. ποΈπ
They got a firsthand look at the massive world of food industry suppliers and manufacturers β what an eye-opener! ππ

Hey Foodies! π Our Level 1 champs wrapped up their "Healthy Eating & Special Diets" unit with a delicious bang! π₯³ Theyβve been busy whipping up mouth-watering vegetarian delights like Peperonata πΆοΈ, Saag Aloo π, and a spicy Lentil Vegetable Stew πΏ thatβs to die for, and fluffy Naan breads. π€€
Our culinary adventurers ended their week at the Medina Food Exhibition πͺ, showcasing the finest local suppliers from our beautiful Isle of Wight. π It was a fabulous opportunity to grow their network, rub shoulders with some of the island's top restaurateurs and hoteliers, and of course, share their passion for amazing food! π€π
But wait, thereβs more! π Our Level 2 culinary magicians have been stirring up a storm with their latest adventure - mastering the art of braising! πͺοΈβ¨ From super-healthy veggies π₯¦π₯ to beef so tender it practically falls apart π, theyβve nailed it!
And the looks on their faces said it all - joy mixed with a hint of "Did I really make that?" π€©π

Half term update part 2 β A Healthy Eating, Global Flavors & Culinary Skills Level-Up! β¨π½οΈ! π Our Level 1 chefs took the healthy eating game to the next level, infusing it with delicious cultural twists! π They whipped up magic in the kitchen with vibrant stir-fried and steamed veggies π₯¦πΆοΈ, alongside perfectly grilled salmon. π Yum!
But wait, there's more! π Remember our Level 2 culinary wizards? They dove deep into the Best of British π¬π§, mastering the art of fish and chips ππ with a scrumptious side of prawn cocktail. π€ Not just that, they've become pros at safe deep frying, and even crafted their own mayonnaise, along with Rosemary and tartare sauces from scratch! π½οΈπ©βπ³π¨βπ³

ππ₯ Hey food lovers.... Half term update part 1! Our Level 1 chefs started by spicing up the kitchen with some mouth-watering pizzas π (yes, the great pineapple debate is back!) and a scrumptious grilled veggie salad with Mozzarella β yum! Itβs all part of our tasty journey into healthy eating this term. πΏπͺ
Meanwhile, our Level 2 culinary wizards had been diving deep into the art of seafood π, perfecting their plaice prep skills fresh from our Billingsgate adventure, and whipping up some slurp-worthy hollandaise and butter reduction sauces. π΄β¨
But thatβs not all β they also crafted a hearty chicken chasseur for their craft assessment, and sweetened the deal with some divine panna cotta and bo***ir biscuits for dessert. π°πͺ

π London Adventure with HTP! π
βGuess what? Our Travel & Tourism L2 and Cookery L2 groups have had an epic day out in London! ππ¬π§
π For our aspiring chefs: We kicked off with a visit to the famous Billingsgate Fish Market. Talk about fresh catches and culinary inspiration! π πͺ Then, it was off to explore the mouth-watering delights at Borough Food Market. ππ½οΈ
πΊοΈ Meanwhile, our Travel & Tourism students started their day with a trendy breakfast at The Breakfast Club in Canary Wharf. π³β Imagine the views! Post-breakfast, it was time for some culture at the magnificent British Museum. ποΈπΌοΈ
Yes, it was an early start (hello, 4 am boat π’π΄), but totally worth it! We hit Billingsgate by 7:15 am, then split up for our adventures before reuniting to head home. ππ¨

Poppy Shortbreads πΊ: Delicately crafted, these treats symbolize remembrance and respect.
Anzac Cookies πͺ: A sweet nod to history from 'downunder', honouring the ANZAC legacy.
