Plant indoor bulbs to flower for Christmas
This is the perfect time to plant indoor bulbs to ensure they provide a fabulous display throughout Christmas.
The golden rule is to make sure you get hold of 'prepared' or 'treated' bulbs which have been primed to flower quickly once you bring them inside and pot them up. You can force them yourself but that means starting in August/September and involves a lot more preparation.

IF YOU hate waste and are trying to think of an interesting way of using up all that pumpkin flesh left over from carving your Halloween lanterns, try brewing up some pumpkin wine.
Get it right and it will give you at least five bottles of a quite drinkable brew that will only cost the price of the sugar and root ginger providing you have loads of pumpkin flesh left from carving.

Newport dance school Le Clare celebrates pupils' success
A NEWPORT dance school is celebrating the success of its students.
Le Clare School of Dance, in Clarence Place, in the city centre, has had several students winning competitions and obtaining sponsorship since becoming a professional dance school about 18 months ago.
Dance teacher Catherine Bennett said their students participate in competitions for freestyle and contemporary style of dancing.

Funding help for sixth formers who want to become doctors
DOCTORS of the future are being helped by Gwent's health board to prepare for a career in medicine.
Funding has been provided by the 12 GP clusters in the area - known as Neighbourhood Care Networks (NCNs) - to support sixth formers who want to study medicine to navigate the application process to universities.
A preparatory course for students in Gwent is being provided in partnership with Mediprep UK, an organisation that seeks to help students through the application process.

Meet and greet top Welsh boxers to attend Marie Curie fundraiser at Cwmbran pub
NINE Welsh boxers will be appearing at a pub in Cwmbran as part of a charity fundraiser for the Marie Curie Cancer Charity.
Among the boxers to appear at The Greenhouse in Llantarnam will be Lee Selby, the IBF featherweight world champion, and his brother Andrew, who will be competing for the WBC flyweight title.
Ashley Brace, Mitchell Buckland, Lance Cooksey, Craig Evans, Fred Evans, Gavin Gwynn and Sean McGoldrick will complete the line-up alongside coaches Junior Borg and Tony Borg.
