📣 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL CHOW GAR SOUTHERN PRAYING MANTIS PRACTITIONERS The European Chow Gar Association (ECGA) We officially announce the European Chow Gar Association (ECGA) as the only legally recognised organisation in Europe and the UK that continues the original association established by Grandmaster Ip Shui. This recognition has been formally passed to Sifu Kui Fung by the current Gatekeeper, Grandmaster Ip Chee Keung — the direct inheritor and son of Grandmaster Ip Shui. As such, ECGA is the sole authentic representative body of Chow Gar Southern Praying Mantis in Europe and the UK. Any other individual or group not accredited by the ECGA is not recognised within the official lineage of Chow Gar Tong Long. Use of the name or system outside of this recognition is considered illegitimate. This is not simply a matter of name or personal interpretation. Authenticity means transmission — a direct lineage, correct methods, and a living connection to the Gatekeeper and the system's original association. What ECGA Offers ✅ A clear, structured path for students who wish to study and master authentic Chow Gar Southern Praying Mantis. ✅ Official certification, ranking, and eventual school establishment, all approved and stamped by the Gatekeeper. ✅ A full curriculum based on the teachings and methodology of Grandmaster Ip Chee Keung. ✅ Access to learning via the official online platform, MyChowGar, and opportunities for in-person workshops, seminars, and retreats. ✅ Support and development for both martial and health-focused training, including Health Qigong instruction. “ Anyone who can beat me by bridge, may take my title “ - Gatekeeper Ip Chee Keung Here’s a glimpse of Sifu Kui Fung, the European representative of Gatekeeper Grandmaster Ip Chee Keung, during a recent visit to Hong Kong, engaging in “light training”with the Grandmaster himself. At 6’3” and walking around naturally at 19 stone (120kg), Kui Fung is a formidable presence by any standard. And yet, here you can see him quietly laughing to himself, not out of pride, but admiration. Despite being half his size, Grandmaster Ip Chee Keung demonstrates the kind of internal strength, structure, and stamina that only decades of deep, authentic practice can produce. No fanfare. No theatrics. Just real kung fu, passed on through touch, pressure, and quiet understanding. A quick side note: Sifu Kui Fung apologises for the swearing, but if you could feel what he felt, you’d likely forgive him. Even the Gatekeeper himself, calm and composed, looks over at the end, with a hint of concern, worried that he may have broken him! This is the heart of Chow Gar Southern Praying Mantis: not just technique, but living transmission. Sifu Balint (right), is a Chow Gar Master and official representative in Hungary, who received his title from Gatekeeper Grandmaster Ip Chee Keung.

Sifu Kui Fung (left), a student of Grandmaster Wong, is an official representative of Chow Gar Praying Mantis Kung Fu and also appointed by Gatekeeper Grandmaster Ip Chee Keung.
