Back in October 2025, Arran, a student in The View 4 and part of our Horticulture options group, found an acorn outside of our school Polytunnel and decided to plant it. Everyday since, he goes and looks after it. It has now grown into a lovely sapling and is showing promise to become a good Oak Tree. 🌱🌳

Arran said “It is good fun to look after the tree, and I feel happy and proud of myself watching it grow.”

This term, we have been learning about how to look after our environment and trying to make small changes to our everyday habits. This week we have been out in our local community litter picking. We ventured down to the river and along the cycle track. We used litter pickers to fill two bags of rubbish. Some students commented on the amount of litter we found and have suggested maybe next time we could visit a local beach.
