The Tour de France will return to Yorkshire in 2027, with Leeds confirmed as the start of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift – the first time the women’s race has visited Britain. The announcement was made during a nationwide “Tour de Skies” reveal, marking a major moment for the region and building on the legacy of Yorkshire’s hugely successful 2014 Grand Départ.

The women’s race will begin in Leeds on Friday 30 July 2027, crossing the Pennines to Manchester before returning via the Peak District and finishing stage two in Sheffield. The news places Yorkshire at the heart of the UK’s first-ever hosting of both the men’s and women’s Tours.

Routes were unveiled as all 10 host towns and cities were illuminated by coordinated yellow beams. In Leeds, Civic Hall was transformed to celebrate past British Grand Départs and reveal the six UK stages.

The men’s Tour de France will start in Edinburgh on Friday 2 July 2027, travelling through Carlisle, Keswick, Liverpool and Welshpool before finishing the UK leg in Cardiff. Alongside the routes, organisers announced Joy, a new social impact programme, and confirmed that 7,000 volunteers will be recruited.

Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift route dates:
Friday 30 July | Stage one: Leeds to Manchester
Saturday 31 July | Stage two: Manchester to Sheffield
Sunday 1 August | Stage three: London

Did you know that the real cognitive advantage of bilinguals isn’t just speaking two languages? According to recent research from Psychology Today, the brain’s ability to translate between multiple systems—whether languages, complex routes, or even different tasks—is what truly builds adaptability and mental flexibility. 🧠

This kind of cognitive “translation” is something "𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲", because it relies on context, intuition, and switching between fundamentally different ways of thinking.

🇫🇷🇪🇸Our French and Spanish classes don’t just teach vocabulary—they help children build the mental flexibility, confidence, and adaptability that research shows really matters. Find your nearest class and book a FREE TRIAL here: https://classes.lajolieronde.co.uk/

At La Jolie Ronde, we’re not just another language provider—we’re trusted specialists with over 40 years of experience in teaching French and Spanish to children.

It all began with a simple belief: 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙟𝙤𝙮𝙛𝙪𝙡, 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. From those early days, where a handful of enthusiastic children gathered to sing, play, and explore French for the first time, we've grown into a vibrant network of tutors and classes trusted by parents, schools, and nurseries across the world.

Our primary focus is to inspire and teach children to learn a second language from an early age, giving them a valuable head start so that when they encounter languages at primary and secondary school, they feel confident, capable, and motivated to continue.

We know many children still miss out on this early opportunity—despite strong research showing that the earlier they start, the greater the long-term cognitive, cultural, and academic benefits.

We believe language learning should be given the same importance as other core subjects.

What sets us apart is more than just our award-winning programme—it’s the spark we see in a child’s eyes when they greet us with “Bonjour!” or “¡Hola!” for the very first time. It’s our carefully structured approach, our passionate tutors, and our belief that language learning opens doors to a bigger, brighter world.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗯𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁.

Here's what sets us apart:

👉Proven, Award-Winning Programme
Our carefully structured and engaging programme has won multiple awards and is tried, tested, and loved by thousands of children, parents, and educators. It offers progression from early years through to the end of primary school, ensuring continuity and strong foundations.

So highly regarded, it is taught in some of the top prep schools in the UK and is used internationally in schools and language centres across countries including Ireland, USA, The Middle East, Indonesia, Australia, South America, Africa, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, and Japan

👉Pupil Activity Books to Reinforce Learning
Every child receives their own pupil activity book, packed with age-appropriate exercises, vocabulary, and our media app provides access to our songs to support and reinforce what they learn in class. Pupils take pride in these high-quality resources and happily continue practising at home—giving parents visibility and helping schools meet learning progression objectives.

👉Enhances and Enriches the Curriculum
Our clubs complement and enhance language learning within the school curriculum, bringing it to life in a fun and engaging way. We don’t just enrich the pupils—we also enrich the whole school or nursery setting. By supporting staff, helping to build relationships, and strengthening home–school links, our clubs add value and help make schools and nurseries even more attractive and stand out to prospective parents.

👉Passionate & Vetted Tutors
We work with dedicated, enthusiastic tutors who are native or fluent speakers, trained and fully vetted. Every tutor undergoes strict safeguarding checks, including enhanced disclosure checks, through either the Disclosure and Barring Service (England and Wales), Disclosure Scotland (Scotland) or Garda Vetting (Ireland) and have full public liability insurance - giving peace of mind to both parents and schools.

👉Small, Supportive Classes
We keep our group sizes small to ensure individual attention and active participation. Children are immersed in the language through songs, role-plays, stories, and games—building confidence, not pressure.

👉Aligned with EYFS & Curriculum Goals
Our programmes are designed to support early years and primary education, enhancing the curriculum while enriching children’s learning with a valuable life skill.

👉We Invest in Our Network
We’re committed to the success of every tutor in our network. That’s why we provide ongoing training and professional development throughout the year—not just at the start. This ensures our tutors remain confident, inspired, and up to date with best practices in language teaching, safeguarding, and child engagement. When we invest in our tutors, everyone benefits—especially the children.

👉We Celebrate Achievement
We believe in recognising effort and celebrating success. As children progress through our programme, they are rewarded with certificates, medals, and other achievements—boosting their confidence, motivation, and sense of pride. These tangible rewards help children stay engaged and give parents a clear sense of their child’s progress.

👉Trusted by Schools & Nurseries
We’re proud to work in partnership with hundreds of schools and early years settings who trust and choose us year after year. They value our reliability, experience, and the high-quality, flexible solution we provide—one that fits seamlessly into their timetable.

Our clubs not only support teachers and contribute to a well-rounded education but also promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness, helping children develop global mindsets from an early age. By enriching their offer, we help schools and nurseries strengthen relationships with families and stand out as forward-thinking, inclusive learning environments that parents are proud to be part of.

👉A Strong & Widespread Network
With a large and growing network of passionate French and Spanish tutors, we’re able to offer clubs and classes in schools, nurseries, and centres across the majority of the UK and Ireland. This wide reach means more families can access high-quality language learning close to home, delivered by trained and trusted tutors.

🎉Learning that Lasts a Lifetime
Our clubs nurture a love for languages from a young age. Many of our learners go on to thrive in secondary school thanks to the head start they’ve gained with us.
