What a fantastic first week our Reception children had last week! 🧸

We were so impressed with how well the children settled into school life and, most importantly, how confidently they walked through the doors each morning, showing wonderful independence and enthusiasm as they began their school journey. Their busy week included meeting Fairstead Fred, celebrating National Teddy Bear Day, enjoying Dinosaur Day, and diving into their very first PE, Music, and Computing lessons. 🦖

We were especially proud of them during their first whole-school assembly, where they bravely went up onto the stage to collect a Merit Certificate in recognition of their amazing start. Well done, Reception, you had a brilliant first week and we are very proud of you all! 🌟

Our Year 2 pupils had an incredible practical maths session, diving straight into hands-on learning with place value mats and Dienes blocks to build 2-digit numbers! 🔢

Alongside building their numbers, the children have been working hard on their 'Maths Talk', developing brilliant reasoning skills and always thinking about the 'because' behind their answers. It is wonderful to see them explaining their thinking with so much confidence and clarity. 🗣️

Well done to everyone for completing such a successful and enthusiastic first week in Year 2! 🌟

What a brilliant, high-energy start to the term for our Year 3 and 4 pupils with an exciting STEAM Challenge! 🍝

The children teamed up for a collaborative session focused on building communication and problem-solving skills, starting with exploring how different shapes strengthen structures using spaghetti and marshmallows. They put their newfound knowledge right into action for the Great Tower Challenge, where things got delightfully competitive during the final height measurements! 📏

Seeing those joyful faces and creative minds working together captures the collaborative spirit of our school community so well. Outstanding work by our future engineers! 🏆

What a fantastic start to the new term, with Year 3 enjoying a lovely animal-themed first day! 🐆

The children threw themselves into their creative work, producing some wonderful rainforest animal art and showcasing so much talent and enthusiasm right from the get-go. The whole team are immensely proud of how brilliantly everyone has settled in! 🎨

The children have thoroughly enjoyed bringing in their favourite stories and sharing them with their classmates, talking all about the characters and adventures they love most. It has been lovely to watch their reading confidence shine and to hear such enthusiastic book chats filling the room! 💬

Yesterday, our Year 1 pupils had a wonderful PSHE session meeting Jigsaw Jack, our puzzle piece mascot! 🧩

The children took turns introducing themselves to Jack before sharing some truly thoughtful ideas on how to make him feel safe, happy, and valued in their classroom. Afterwards, the class discussed who they can turn to in school whenever they feel worried, upset, or sad, recording all their fantastic ideas on their Helping Hands. ✋

Well done to Year 1 for showing so much care, empathy, and kindness right from the start of term! ❤️

The children settled in wonderfully yesterday morning, taking time to enjoy some peaceful mindfulness colouring to build a calm and welcoming environment in their new classroom. 🎨

It was fantastic to see everyone easing into the new routine with such focus and bright smiles across the room. 😊

Our Year 1 pupils are all set and ready for takeoff as they prepare to launch into their big adventure this Wednesday morning! ✈️

With their custom passports ready and enthusiasm running sky-high, the children are brimming with excitement for the journey ahead. The classroom is filled with anticipation as everyone gets ready to explore, learn, and discover together. 🌍

Looking back at a truly special milestone for our Year 6 pupils as they proudly received their brilliant leavers' hoodies! 🎓

A huge thank you goes to our wonderfully generous FHPA, who kindly purchased the hoodies for the children and made this moment so memorable. We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the FHPA for their amazing donation towards the Prizegiving awards, as well as providing the lovely end-of-term leavers' treat during the Key Stage 2 trip to Anglesey Abbey. 🌳

Our children are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such a supportive community, and Year 6 send their biggest thanks for these wonderful gifts and experiences! 💖

Throwback to a brilliant Move Up Morning, where our pupils stepped into their upcoming year groups with so much enthusiasm and curiosity! 🎨

Our Year 1 children had a wonderful time discovering what life in Year 2 will be like, spending the day immersed in artwork, creative writing, and poetry. It was full of proud smiles and happy energy as the children settled into their new environment and made themselves right at home. ✨

Transitions like these are such a special part of life at Fairstead House, helping our little ones feel confident, supported, and ready for their next big adventure together. 📚
