✨ The countdown is over... TOMORROW we finally get to welcome all our wonderful pupils back to school! ✨

The staff have spent the summer preparing classrooms, sharpening pencils, labelling everything in sight, and practising our best "Good morning!" smiles in the mirror. 😄

We're excited to hear about your summer adventures, see how much you've grown (seriously, did everyone get taller?!), and reunite with all the smiling faces we've missed.

Rumour has it some teachers are so excited they might actually have laid out their outfits a week early, and at least one member of staff has already forgotten where they put their coffee mug. ☕😂

Have an early night, pack those bags, and get ready for another fantastic year of learning, laughter, friendship, and memories.

We'll be waiting at the classroom doors with big smiles and lots of excitement.

Good morning,

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer break.

I just wanted to remind you that we are closed to pupils until Thursday. You may see cars in the carpark, and teachers on site but we have two days of training before we open- otherwise known as PD days or my favourite one so far … teachers drinking tea, and eating biscuits 😊

We are looking forward to seeing you all back on Thursday.

Wow what a wonderful week to end the summer term!

- A graduation tea party to celebrate our older butterflies moving to big school,
- sharing our learning with our families, and finally,
- a whole nursery celebration looking at individual achievements throughout the year 🐛🦋

We are extremely proud of our Caterpillars, and Butterflies, and we wish you all a wonderful summer. ☀️

Are you looking for a nursery place?
We have a purpose built nursery tucked inside the grounds of Laureate academy primary school.

Children can join us from their second birthday, and whilst I could tell you about our nursery, I asked the children to tell you what they think instead.

So here is what they said….

“I like nursery, I have lots of friends to play with.”

“I like learning lots of new things”

“My teachers are the best”

“I get to climb trees”

“We play in the water”

“I can ride the bike, but I know I have to wear a helmet”

“I like to eat fruit at nursery… shh don’t tell my mum coz I don’t eat fruit at home!”

“I miss my teachers when I don’t come to nursery”

“When I move to bumblebee class, you need to find new children to play with! Don’t worry Mrs Woollard, I will find you new friends. We got this” 🥰

New wheels!!!!! Well new to us!

I cannot tell you just how happy this has made our nursery staff.

We have very kindly been gifted a four seater pushchair so we can now venture out with the caterpillar class too!

It is currently having a clean, and we will be out and about. Where will the caterpillar class go first?

☀️Hot Weather Update for Parents & Carers ☀️

With very warm weather forecast for the start of the week, we want to help keep all children as comfortable as possible during the school day.

✅ PE kits may continue to be worn to school until further notice to help children stay cool.

Please also ensure your child has the following each day:
👒 A named sun hat or cap
🧴 Sunscreen applied before school (where appropriate)
💧 A named water bottle

We will be encouraging regular water breaks and will adapt outdoor activities as needed to ensure everyone stays safe and well during the heat.

Here at Laureate, the rain does not stop our play, in fact it enhances it.

Using the story “Tidy”, the children have been exploring the word flood. During the week we saw torrential rain… it caused a FLOOD!! In our playground.

We could have just observed it, but instead we took the opportunity to learn through play, and experience British weather first hand.

“Mrs Woollard, we are splashing in the flood, and it has flooded my Wellies!”

The giggles, the expression, and the learning that took place today was incredible.
