Our eagerly awaited GCSE Maths revision course!
GCSE Maths Easter Revision Course
A Star Tutors has been operating successfully in the Mildenhall, Newmarket, Red Lodge and Bury St Edmunds area for some time, offering exclusive one-to-one tuition for children and adults across a range of subjects.
This Easter take advantage of our small group 4 Day GCSE Maths revision course based at the Red Lodge Millennium Centre over the Easter holiday. The course will be tailored to the needs of students taking the Foundation paper in the first session of the day and Higher paper students in the second session.
Places are limited to just 15 students for each session.
Taking the sessions will be Alastair who has taught and tutored up to GCSE maths for many years. He will be joined by one of his former colleagues, Louise, who is currently teaching GCSE Higher and Foundation maths in an academy school in another county.
With a small staff: pupil ratio your teenager will be given the best opportunity to excel in this year's examinations.
The plan for the week will be:
Monday 11th April to Thursday 14th April
9am to 11am Foundation students
11:30am to 1:30pm Higher students
Each of the first three two hour sessions will be dedicated to covering three of the most common maths topics at that level, with a focus on reduced teacher-talk and maximised exam question practice and individual support. The final two hour session will focus upon the two calculator papers which is the area where most students drop marks and we can be flexible enough to cover a further topic of the students' choosing if they wish. All paper and learning materials will be supplied - just bring your full pencil case, geometry set and calculator.
The intention of these sessions is to revise topics where your teen may have a weakness - this is not the time to teach a topic from the very beginning. It is expected that the students will use our sessions as a springboard for revision across all of their examination subjects and will instill a desire to get home and continue to study beyond the session time.
The fee for the 4 Day Revision Course is just £125 (paid in advance to secure your place).
We will operate a reserve list should a student drop out but please be aware that places are non-refundable.
So, have a talk with your teen. If you think that attending the 4 day course will give them the boost that they need to get the grades to take the next steps in their academic career then book a place now.
Please note that should the week fill up quickly then we will look to run the course again the following week for a further 15 Foundation and 15 Higher paper students.
