WATER
The River Rights Charter gives the River Ouse the 'right to exist and thrive', legally binding future planning decisions to prioritize its natural flow, biodiversity, and active ecological regeneration.
Great news but just magine how this would have been heard and be so absurd to those who knew and know still that water enables our life to be anything at all. It provides us the ability to live right. Now we add a right to water being allowed to exist in our systemic World. I presume the thriving will be part of the restoration plan. At least we can deepen respect and even attempt recourse and restoration in part. All a really great step.
A useless bit of data for musing on.
487 years ago those before us canalised the River Ouse to create Newhaven port. Since then the draining of this once fertile estuary providing us food has led to between 5.9 - 17.7 milion tonnes of estimated co2 being released into the atmosphere otherwise stable and stored under the water. Who is restoring that cycle? @£30 sequestering cost per tonne we would realise a budget to restore some balance between 177 000 000 - 531 000 000 minimal base re-sequestering budget for River Ouse restoration alone. Apply to the country then the Earth over those 487 years, no science degree needed to comprehend how much we have affected the natural cycles through land and river ecosystem depletion globally. Yes us, the tiny cellphone people alive now are all that is left to put it right. One big love and cohesive efforts are absolutely needed.
Water ensures any percieved right to life continues, it cares not for human rights, laws, ai, time, days, religions, politrix, the bbc and whatever folly we continue to muster. It is the necessary currency flowing through all things living. I for one give it full regard. Be well
