One of our Biggest hits with our babies has been our Millhouse indoor exploration frame 😀
Our beautiful wooden climbing and exploration unit has already sparked lots of curiosity and excitement. Designed specifically for young children, it provides endless opportunities for learning through play.
As babies climb, crawl and explore, they are developing:
✨ Gross motor skills, balance and coordination
✨ Strength and confidence
✨ Spatial awareness and risk assessment
✨ Fine motor skills through the interactive activity panel
✨ Problem-solving and critical thinking
✨ Communication and language as we introduce new words like up, down, over and through
✨ Independence and resilience as they master new challenges
At our nursery, we believe children learn best through hands-on experiences. Resources like this encourage babies to explore at their own pace, build confidence and develop essential skills in a safe, nurturing environment.

Our Sensory Room is starting to take shape 😀
✨ The Importance of Sensory Rooms in Early Years ✨
At nursery, we understand that every child experiences the world differently. That’s why sensory spaces can be such an important part of supporting children’s development in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). 💫
A sensory room provides a calm, engaging environment where children can explore lights, textures, sounds and movement in a way that feels safe and enjoyable.
🌈 Why are sensory rooms important?
🧠 Supports emotional regulation
Sensory spaces can help children who may feel overwhelmed, anxious or overstimulated to relax and reset.
👂 Encourages sensory development
Children learn through their senses. Exploring different textures, sounds and visuals helps develop brain connections and understanding of the world around them.
💬 Promotes communication and language
Sensory play encourages curiosity, interaction and conversation, helping children build language skills naturally.
🤝 Supports inclusive practice
Sensory environments can be especially beneficial for children with additional needs, helping every child access learning in a way that suits them.
💛 Encourages wellbeing and calm
A quiet, calming space can help children feel secure, regulated and ready to return to learning and play.
In the EYFS, we recognise that children thrive when their emotional wellbeing and individual needs are supported. A sensory room is not just a space to play — it is a valuable tool for learning, development and nurturing happy, confident children. 🌟

📸 Why We Choose Not to Share Photos of Children’s Faces 📸
At nursery, the safety, privacy and dignity of every child is always our priority. 💛
You may notice that we do not share photographs showing children’s faces on our social media pages — even when stickers or emojis are placed over them. This is a choice we make to help protect children’s privacy and digital identity.
With today’s technology, images can be edited in ways that were not previously possible, and stickers or emojis placed over faces may not always provide the level of protection people assume. once an image is shared online it can be copied, saved or shared beyond our control.
If your child attends our setting, please don’t worry — families still get to see all the wonderful moments! 💕 We share lots of photos and videos of your child’s learning, play and achievements through our secure, private parent pages, keeping those special memories safely within our nursery community.
We love to showcase the wonderful experiences, learning opportunities and magical moments happening in nursery by sharing photos of activities, play invitations, creations and little hands hard at work. 🌈🖌️📚
Thank you for supporting us in helping to keep children safe, protect their privacy and celebrate the amazing learning taking place every day. 💫

🐸 Exploring the Life Cycle of a Frog 🐸
This week in nursery, our children have been busy exploring the fascinating life cycle of a frog through a hands-on sensory tray experience! 🌿💧
From tiny frogspawn to wriggly tadpoles, growing froglets and fully grown frogs, the children have been learning about how frogs change and grow through play, exploration and curiosity.
Our sensory tray encouraged children to use their senses, build new vocabulary, ask questions and develop their understanding of the natural world. Activities like these support communication and language, fine motor skills, imagination and early scientific thinking in a fun and meaningful way. 🐸✨
