We have very limited spaces available from September in our Baby, Toddler and Preschool rooms, and these are filling very quickly.

Starting nursery is a big moment for children and parents - our nurturing team takes the time to build strong relationships that help every child feel safe and settled, and we work closely with families every step of the way.

We accept all goverment funding, tax free childcare scheme, we charge ZERO hidden fees - no deposit for holding a place, no consumable charges, and we value being one of the most affordable nursery settings in Swadlincote.

🐢✨ s p e c i a l v i s i t o r ✨🐢

This week at nursery we had a very special visitor… TURBO the tortoise!
He came to nursery in celebration of 'National Turtle Day', which is today! 🐢💚

The children were so excited to meet him and loved getting hands on, by gently holding and stroking him.

We helped feed Turbo some tasty lettuce and strawberries, and we even got to see his famous “turboness” in action... he was surprisingly speedy for a tortoise! 💨

During his visit to nursery, we learnt all about turtles and tortoises, how to care for them, what they eat, and the important daily care that Turbo needs to stay happy and healthy.

The children were fascinated and asked so many wonderful questions!

It’s safe to say Turbo stole all of our hearts… the children definitely didn’t want him to leave! 🥹

🐝 b e e d a y 🐝

It was national bee day on Wednesday - the children have enjoyed lots of exciting bee activities across our nursery!

From sensory tuff trays, scooping the honey into the honeycomb, to making their own bees with playdough - the children explored textures, developed fine motor skills and used their imaginations through play 🍯🌼

We also practised mark-making and creative printing while learning about the important role bees play in nature, reading stories and asking questions.

What a buzz-tastic day! 💛🐝

🎨P r e s c h o o l F u n 🎨

Just a handful of activities that Preschool have really enjoyed over the past few weeks.

✂️ Follow the lines, using our scissors, helping to teach the children how to move the scissors, and cut the paper. They were so excited when they saw the paper changing by them cutting. Focusing on our hand eye coordination to follow the lines!

🐛 Bug escape, using the tools provided, we had to help the bugs free from the cold ice! This promoted lots of conversation such as "how did they get in here?!", using our imagination. We had lots of fun pouring the warm water, and smashing the ice away.

🍔BBQ party! We had lots of fun roleplaying, pretending we were at a BBQ(when it was warm🤣), feeding all of nursery and talking about what foods we like best! We had lots of conversations about who chief BBQer is at home!!!

🆎️Jolly phonics, a combination of sounds, actions, and visuals! To help the children recognise letter sounds and the letters, we do this every single day in preschool room to ensure our children are getting school ready, they absolutely love it - all whilst learning new things, it also helps the children engage in group time with their friends, learning to sit still for a period of time.

🚀 Sensory rice play, tipping and pouring, listening to the story and reenacting it! Lots of fun talking about outer space, aliens and rockets!

🏡 Who lives at our home, we've had lots of new friends in preschool recently, so we thought it would be a good idea to talk about our home life, who we live with, what our houses look like etc. This helps promote conversations for the children, and our staff to build a lovely picture of their key children's lives! Using our scissors skills again to cut out the picture that we wanted.

🐯 Zoo animals! The children absolutely love small world animals and magnetic tiles, we always go off childrens interests when planning invitations to play, this one kept them busy and engaged for a while, we loved the team working skills, and all the chatter about where we have seen this animals before and what they may like for their dinner.

You'll get access to our online app system, where you will get lots of updates and photographs on your child's day 📸

With our friendly, nurturing and qualified team, your child will enjoy a safe, fun day, e v e r y d a y! 🌞

Hours between 8am and 5pm✨️

Full day - £35 💰

All this included in the price, aswell as two snacks each day and yummy treats🍦

Hot meals will be an additional cost, but packed lunches are welcome! 🍽

Due to our evergrowing intake of children, we’re on the lookout for a passionate Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our lovely team here at Bramble Wood.

🧸What we’re looking for: 🧸

✨️ Level 3 qualification in Early Years
✨️ Strong safeguarding knowledge (keeping our little ones safe is our top priority!)
✨️ A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
✨️ Someone who loves creating exciting invitations to play that spark curiosity and imagination for our little ones!

Not essential, but it would be great if you also have:

✨ DBS on the 'Update Service'
✨️ Full paediatric first aid trained
✨ Around 2 years experience in an early years setting

Contract will be 20-30 hours, working 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday, term time only, with the possibility of extra hours.

🌸🐰 S P R I N G & E A S T E R 🐰🌸

We’ve been having a lovely time celebrating Easter with lots of hands-on, sensory play and creative activities across all our rooms!

🥣 Sensory trays with cereals - perfect for scooping, pouring and creating shapes, we even made a bunny and enjoyed hopping like little bunnies after!

🥚 Easter egg hunts and matching games outside - using colourful eggs, talking about the colours we can see

🐥 Fine motor play 'eggs' using spoons, egg cartons and small eggs

🌾 Messy play with different textures - mixing, squashing and exploring materials

🎨 Creative exploration with paints - making our own masterpieces!

We've learnt all about Spring and Easter, having lots of fun and getting messy along the way!
It’s been wonderful to see the children so engaged, curious and full of smiles 😊

🌷 Reminder: Nursery is closed Friday 3rd April and Monday 6th April.
