Over the holidays, air conditioning has been installed in Ducklings (the baby unit) to ensure that our under-twos remain cool and safe.

The total cost was £4,320.

So far, our fundraising efforts have raised £2,533 through our Go Fund Me page.

To install air conditioning units in the other rooms, we need an additional £11,000.

This week, temperatures in the rooms have reached as high as 37 degrees!

Thank you all so much for your incredible donations.
Between the Summer Fayre and your kindness, we’ve already raised a wonderful amount — and it truly means the world to us.
This week’s heatwave has pushed our nursery rooms to 32°C, even with every fan running, blinds closed and constant monitoring.
At these temperatures, babies cannot sleep safely, toddlers become distressed, and staff are working in conditions that are simply too hot to be sustainable. It’s heartbreaking watching children struggle in heat we cannot fully control.
Our plan is to install an air‑conditioning unit in the Baby Room first, as this is where the risk is highest — but our hope is to complete all three rooms together, so every child can stay cool, comfortable and safe throughout the day.
With your help, we can make this happen far sooner than we ever imagined.
Please continue to share our fundraiser with family and friends, and donate if you’re able. Every share, every pound, every act of support brings us closer to giving our children the safe environment they deserve.

Temperatures inside our nursery rooms reached 31.2°C today, despite our best efforts with blinds, fans and constant ventilation.

Children can overheat very quickly, so we are putting additional safety measures in place.

If you would prefer to keep your child at home during this heatwave, we completely understand.

If you wish to collect your child earlier, that is absolutely fine too.☀️

Essential Requirements During the HeatwaveTo keep children safe,

we must insist on the following:

Sun cream applied before arrival
Named sun hat every day
Drinks bottle (we refill throughout the day)
Cool pack in lunchboxes — without one, we will need you to collect your child before lunch as we cannot refrigerate all lunchboxes
Appropriate cool cotton clothing — if clothing is unsuitable for the heat, we will ask you to take your child home to change
These measures are essential to keep children safe and comfortable in extreme temperatures.💛

Summer Fayre.
Thankyou to all the families who came along yesterday to our Summer Fayre. It was great to see you all.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all my wonderful staff who spared their Saturday to help make the Fayre such a success 😊 also a big thank you to all the stall holders who came and made it such a great event.
A big thank you to everyone who donated prizes for our Raffle.

The total amount raised on the day was £1531.80. This amount will go straight into our fund for Air Conditioning throughout the Nursery. So thank you.
