A reminder that if you want to book your child in to our new government-funded breakfast club (Reception - Year 6 children) the deadline for booking for week 1 of term is Wednesday 19th August and for week 2 it is Monday 24th August. 'Summer Kids Events' at St James' STACK over the summer holidays!

The summer holidays are now here and school re-opens for children on Wednesday 2 September 2026.

We hope all of our children and families have a lovely summer together.

We'd also like to say thank you for all of the lovely cards and kind words we have all received today at school. Honestly, you don't know just how much a kind word or two make to our staff. We all went the best for our children and we are proud to work at such an inclusive primary school at the heart of our Lemington community.

FREE BREAKFAST CLUB FROM SEPTEMBER 2026:

Our new free breakfast club opens from the first day back in September, children must arrive for breakfast club between 8:15-8:20am at the double blue doors on the Rokeby Street side of school. You can book for the first three weeks of term at this link: https://lemingtonriverside.newcastle.sch.uk/Free-Breakfast-Club/

Please note, you must book your child into breakfast club at least 2 weeks in advance so that we can plan out staffing and food orders.

Bookings for week 1 of breakfast club will close at 12 noon on Wednesday 19th August. Bookings for week 2 of breakfast club will close at 12 noon on Monday 24th August.

GOODBYE TO THE CLASS OF 2026!

This afternoon and evening we have given our fantastic 'Class of 2026' a brilliant send off.

Firstly we had our graduation ceremony where the children were presented with their leaver hoodies and other gifts and we reminisced about their time at our school.

Then this evening we had an AWESOME party at school to give them a great send off!

We would like to place on record our enormous thanks to all of the parents and carers who contributed to funding the best party we've ever hosted at school! Thank you to our great staff team who also stayed behind to party with the children!

We wish our 'Class of 2026' the very best as they make the move to high school - you are an exceptional group of children who have very bright futures ahead of you!

An exciting event taking place at the Lemington Centre on Friday 31 July between 1-6pm.

Today (Thursday 16 July) at the Charlton Street Hub...

Tomorrow (Thursday 16 July) we say farewell to the Lemington Riverside 'Class of 2026'.

It is always a day filled with mixed emotions and there are sure to be a few tears shed.

What we always say though is once you are a member of our Lemington Riverside family, that never changes and you are always 'one of our own'!

Tomorrow we have a number of events for our departing year 6 children:

- At 1:30pm parents, carers and grandparents of Year 6 children are invited to join us for our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony. This event takes place in the Main Hall at school and adults are asked to arrive at the main entrance for 1:25pm. At the end of the event there will be opportunities for photographs and Year 6 children are welcome to leave with their grown ups to get ready for our party later in the evening.

- We will then host a fantastic party for our Year 6 children between 4:30pm and 6:00pm in the main school hall. A huge thank you to all of the parents/carers of our Year 6 children who have fundraised and organised a wonderful send off for our children. The Lemington Riverside staff team will also be around to give our children the send off they deserve.

These days are always emotional, but we are so proud of each and every one of our Year 6 children and know that they all have a magnificently exciting future ahead of them!

Come on England!

Thank you for your incredible support at our pop up stall today - through your kind and generous donations we have raised over £500 for school funds which will go towards trips, visits and experiences for our children in the 2026/2027 school year!

We are very proud members of the West End Children's Trust (WEST)!

We work alongside 9 other schools across the west of our city to give our children many opportunities.

We have proud partnerships with organisations such as Newcastle United Foundation, Theatre Royal, Centre for Life, Discovery Museum, Newcastle United Academy and many more. These partnerships allow us to give our children so many wonderful experiences.
