๐ŸŒŸ"I wish we had started sooner"๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ”ท We hear this a lot from parents of students in Y10/11
Many students and parents wish they had started tutoring earlier because regular lessons provide structure, personalised support, and consistent practice.

๐Ÿ”ถ At Kip McGrath Newburn & Westerhope , we can identify gaps in understanding before they become bigger problems, explain difficult topics in a way that suits the student's learning style, and build confidence through guided practice.

๐Ÿ”ท Starting earlier also gives students more time to develop strong study habits, improve technique, and gradually master the GCSE content without the pressure of last-minute revision.

๐Ÿ”ถFor Year 10 students specifically, tutoring can help by:

โœ… Building strong foundations before Year 11.

โœ… Addressing misconceptions early.

โœ… Providing regular GCSE-style practice.

โœ… Improving confidence and motivation.

โœ… Creating a personalised study plan.

โœ… Reducing exam stress through gradual preparation.

๐Ÿ”ท The earlier support begins, the more time there is to strengthen knowledge and skills before the final exams.

๐Ÿ”ถ We offer free assessments and have places available now๐Ÿ˜€

๐ŸŽ’SPAGโ€ฆ what is it, and why do children talk about it so much?๐ŸŽ’

If your child has mentioned SPAG at home, you might be wondering what on earth they're talking about!๐Ÿซค

๐Ÿ“– SPAG stands for Spelling, Punctuation and Grammarโ€”an important part of English that helps children become confident readers and writers. While many children enjoy creative writing, SPAG can sometimes feel a little trickier because it involves learning the rules behind the language we use every day.

๐Ÿ™‹ Children are taught to identify different parts of speech, such as nouns, verbs, and adjectives, as well as understanding how punctuation marks like full stops, question marks, and apostrophes are used correctly.

โ“Could you answer this Key Stage 1 SATs-style question?โ“

๐ŸŒŸWhat does the apostrophe in the word Dean's show? ๐ŸŒŸ

Dean's new trainers are white.

A) The new trainers belong to Dean.
B) The word has some missing letters.
C) It shows a pause in the sentence.
D) Dean's is a plural word.

โค๏ธWOW - Such lovely feedback, thank you โค๏ธ

Kendra and Deborah

My son attended GCSE English tuition for a short period of time, and I cannot praise the tutors highly enough. From the very beginning, they made him feel comfortable and welcome, and he quickly built a lovely relationship with them. They also took the time to get to know us as parents, creating a supportive and friendly environment for the whole family.

After every session, we received valuable feedback, which helped us understand his progress and the areas he was working on. What impressed us most was how quickly my son began to understand concepts that he had repeatedly struggled with at school. The tutors explained things in a way that finally made sense to him, boosting both his understanding and his confidence.

My son genuinely looked forward to attending each session and always came away feeling positive and motivated. The patience, encouragement, and dedication shown by the tutors made a real difference in a short space of time.

We were so impressed with the support and progress our son made that we have now enrolled our younger son as well, in preparation for starting secondary school. We feel confident that he will benefit from the same positive experience, encouragement, and high-quality teaching.

We are extremely grateful for everything the tutors have done and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for GCSE English tuition or additional support with their child's education.
