Top Tips for Children’s Teeth
Healthy teeth help children eat, speak and smile with confidence. Starting good habits early makes a big difference!
Here are some simple ways to protect your child’s teeth:
✨ Brush twice a day
Use a fluoride toothpaste and help children brush until at least age 7.
🥤 Choose water or milk between meals
Sugary drinks can cause tooth decay.
🍓 Keep sugary foods to mealtimes
Frequent sugary snacks can damage teeth.
🪥 Use the right amount of toothpaste
• Under 3: smear of toothpaste
• 3–6 years: pea-sized amount
👩‍⚕️ Visit the dentist regularly
Children should see a dentist as soon as their first teeth appear.
Starting healthy habits early can help prevent tooth decay and keep little smiles shining.

☀️ Sun’s out (finally!) – let’s keep our tiniest ones safe ☀️

We might not get Mediterranean sunshine in the North East very often… but when it does arrive, it can be stronger than we think – especially for very young babies 👶
Babies’ skin is extra delicate, so a little extra care goes a long way ❤️

👶 Top sun safety tips for young babies:
• Keep babies under 6 months out of direct sunlight completely
• Use shade first – pram covers, umbrellas, and trees are your best friends 🌳
• Dress babies in loose, light clothing that covers arms and legs
• A wide-brimmed hat helps protect their face, ears and neck
• For babies over 6 months, apply a small amount of SPF 30+ to exposed areas (and reapply regularly)
• Avoid going out in the strongest sun (11am–3pm)
• Make sure babies stay cool and well hydrated 🍼
Even on a “rare sunny weekend”, the sun can still catch little ones out – so let’s enjoy it safely together 🌈

Caitlin has completed level 3 in Early years course this month🎉🎉. She started in our nursery as a student. She has gone from strength to strength. We are so proud of her, Well done! 👍🏻
