“Music is a huge passion of mine, and I have been able to embrace that at Dame Allan’s.”
Fiona joined Dame Allan’s in Year 7 from a state primary school, supported by a bursary award.
Since then, she has embraced opportunities across school life - from performing in concerts and services and singing as a leading chorister at Newcastle Cathedral, to learning the oboe through our Endangered Instruments programme.
Now studying Maths, Music and Psychology at A level, Fiona credits the opportunities and support she has received with helping her develop both academically and personally.
For Fiona, some experiences - including school trips abroad - simply wouldn’t have been possible without her bursary.
This Giving Day, we want to help open those same doors for another young person by raising funds for a bursary place for a care-experienced child.
Every gift can help create opportunities that last far beyond the classroom. 💗
