SAFE SAND 😀😀We have a big sand pit outside, sheltered from the wind and full of safe sand. We can also make a sun shade⛱️ when needed. Children develop physical and motor skills, maths with volume etc, Science, dry sand flows, wet sand holds it shape.
We make it into a small world buiding site with figures and toy dumper trucks🚗🚗 or a real buiding site with bricks(foam) hard hats and hi-vis vests. 👷♀️👷
Treasure hunts🕵️♀️ when we are pirates. Writing and making marks with sticks and rakes. And pouring water down a gutter to teach speed. gravity and density, it is a calming social area and most of all it is FUN.😀😀😀😀😀Denise

Our snug den, 😃 with a padded blanket, cushions and fairy lights. Den's are very important to children's emotional well-being. It can be a hideaway, a retreat, a private, secure place where children feel safe. A den has endless possibilities, a fortress,🎪 a reading nook, somewhere to share play with friends and this den has been all of these and much, much more. Denise 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

🐛THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR🐛
Something exciting has happened to our tiny caterpillars, they are now tucked away into their cacoons. The children loved transferring them into the net for them to turn into beautiful butterflies 🦋

We’ve been reading Jack and the beanstalk as part of our growing topic. The children decorated their magic beans 🫘, placed them on the wall and our magic beans worked! We have a ginormous beanstalk with a grumpy giant hiding in the clouds ☁️

We’ve had lots of fun making Ladybirds as part of our summer term topic. The children were so excited when a Ladybird landed on one of the children’s hats 🐞
