Year 1 have been developing their charcoal skills in art. We have learnt how to use the charcoal in different ways to give different effects. We have started to use those skill to build matchstick people in the style of Lowry.

After reading the story of Matisse's Magical Trail the children planned and drew pictures onto pebbles. The children then made their own trail with their pebbles in the forest.

Nursery had a fantastic time at the beach - thank you so much to all our family helpers who came along too!
They have also had lots of fun with zoo lab and learnt all about lots of different animals.

Reception began their 'In The Garden' topic this week. They have been reading the story 'The Bad-Tempered Ladybird' by Eric Carle and they have been painting their own ladybirds. They have also been reading lots of non-fiction books about different minibeasts and went on a Minibeast Hunt in forest school.

We’ve had a fantastic, but slightly short week—just four whirlwind days! Our trip to the Glendale Country Show was a real highlight. While there weren’t any pygmy goats this year, we still saw plenty of beautiful animals and learned so much about rural life. It was a fabulous trip, and the children had so much fun.

Maths in the sunshine for Y2. Double facts hopscotch ☀️

A bright, energetic week in Year 3 saw children diving deeper into their understanding of forces and magnets through hands‑on experiments that sparked plenty of curiosity and excitement. The class also embraced National Numeracy Day with huge enthusiasm, enjoying a full programme of fun, number‑filled activities that brought maths to life.

Reception are getting very skilled at numeracy. For National Numeracy Day this week we did all kinds of maths activities; practising addition and subtraction, using part whole models, thinking about number bonds to ten, and comparing amounts. We love thinking of a number and getting our friends to guess what it is by telling them facts about our number - and we know impressive facts about numbers!
