Recce for the NZ field trip is going well. Beautiful sunny day for a walk along the side of the Tasman glacier. Today was wet and windy, but amazing to see mueller glacier tongue has almost disappeared in just a few years

Geo2135 Rivers field trip to the wandering gravel bed River Coquet, Northumberland.

Warm and sunny autumn weather for the Geo2135 'Rivers' module field trip to Coquetdale, Northumberland. Field trip focussed on river gauging techniques, implications of land use for surface runoff and the use of dGPS to survey fluvial geomorphology.

Great day at Hauxley with our second year undergraduates, learning about sediment, GPS and water-based wildlife. Great weather - almost needed sunscreen in October!! Lots of four legged visitors for the students to pet.

Fun night at the great north museum Hancock, talking to visitors about glaciers on earth and mars! Great event as usual and really engaged audience. Thanks to the post grads for helping out!
