Year 3 had a brilliant end to STEM week on Friday when Julian Hughes delivered a coding workshop!

We coded our own Easter games then created our own games controllers out of … bananas and playdough!?!

We showed determination and resilience and had lots of fun 😁 💻 🐰

Year 2 had a great cricket session delivered by Northumberland Cricket yesterday. Lots of great teamwork when fielding and some amazing batting skills too!

They lit up the stage at the Whitley Bay Playhouse with Greased Lightning, performing in front of 12 other schools like absolute pros…no nerves, just pure confidence and some seriously impressive moves! 💃🕺

In outdoor learning today, Reception painted Easter eggs, decorated eggs with natural resources, did an Easter egg number hunt and had fun bouncing on the space hoppers!

Coding fun with Julian Hughes from GEM Education. We managed to light up our lighthouses using the micro:bits.

Reception have been revising all the different ways to make ten using two parts today. Once they had made their parts using cubes they were set the challenge of saying or writing a number sentence to describe their ten.

Year 1 loved their lesson on algorithms today! 🐭

Beech class have had a brilliant week learning about ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar.’ We enjoyed reading the story, writing it ourselves and making our own very hungry caterpillars.

In Maths we were learning about patterns! We had a great time copying and creating our own patterns with our friends, especially when they were linked to our book of the week.

Oak class have enjoyed the sponsored bunny bounce. Some of the children managed almost 100 bounced in 1 minute!
