Next up in our Meet the Team series… say hello to Hollie! 👋✨

Hollie has been coming to True Colours Theatre for 4 years and has been part of Connect for the last few months. She’s already become a massive asset to the team, always happy to get stuck in and help wherever she can! 🥰🙌

Hollie is working towards doing an apprenticeship with us, and we’re so excited to see where this journey takes her! 🌟

🎭 Hollie has been performing in shows since she was just 5 years old and has a huge passion for musical theatre and singing! 🎤

🌈✨ MEET THE TEAM – LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST… ALI! ✨🌈

And finally… the face behind it all! 💛

Meet Ali, our CEO — the heart, the passion and the driving force behind everything we do at True Colours Theatre CIO Foundation. 🌈

Ali founded this beautiful charity after her own personal journey with autism and ADHD gave her a purpose — and that purpose was simple…

💭 No child or young person should ever feel the way she did.
💛 Everyone deserves to feel understood.
🌈 Everyone deserves somewhere they belong.
✨ And everyone deserves to be reminded that they can achieve anything.

What started as an idea became a journey that has taken True Colours further than anyone could have imagined… from the incredible DIY SOS experience to the amazing support of the team and The Strictly Special in 2023. 🥹✨

But Ali’s creativity doesn’t stop there! 📚🌈

She is also the author of Annabelle’s Rainbow, a beautiful children’s book following a little girl as she navigates her emotions — inspired by Ali’s own lived experiences. 💕🌈

Ali is proof that sometimes the things that make us different can become the very things that give us our purpose. ❤️

So, as we come to the end of our Meet the Team series…

We couldn’t finish without celebrating the woman who started it all. 🌈👑

✨ WHAT A WEEK AT TRUE COLOURS CONNECT! ✨

What better way to round up our week than with a little look at all the fun we’ve been getting up to! 💙🌈

We’ve had our daily wellbeing check-ins 🧘‍♀️💭, taking time to talk about how we’re feeling, what keeps us happy and the things that help us stay calm.

🏆 SPORTS DAY was a BIG hit! We had relaxed Zumba 💃, bowling 🎳, swing ball ⚾ and plenty of laughs along the way! And of course… we couldn’t finish without celebrating everyone’s achievements with some very well-deserved certificates! 🥇👏

📚 On the education side, we’ve been learning all about our bodies, discovering how they work and learning some really important facts along the way.

And that’s just a little snapshot! 🤩 There’s been plenty of chatting, laughing, learning, teamwork, life skills and making memories along the way.

Hi everyone, I’m Isla! 👋💚
I’m a teacher here at True Colours Theatre & True Colours Connect 🎭

Want to know a few completely random facts about me? Well… here we go! 😂👇

🐱 I have 4 cats — yes, FOUR!
💚 My favourite colour is green
🍣 My favourite food is sushi
🎤 I’m also a professional singer full-time alongside working here at True Colours, so name a tune and I’ll happily sing the night away! 🎶

And apparently my dancing skills are UNMATCHED 💃😂 … although I’m also absolutely amazing at:

🪟 Washing the windows
📚 Stacking the shelves

Basically… give me a job and I’ll probably make it musical! 😂🎤

👋 MEET THE STAFF — JACOB! 💛

Hi everyone, I’m Jacob! 👋

True Colours isn’t just a place I work — it’s been a HUGE part of my life since 2014, when my mum, Ali, started the charity. 💛

Growing up alongside True Colours and watching my mum’s little idea grow into the amazing organisation it is today has been incredible. From starting as a theatre school to becoming a thriving community hub, I’ve been lucky enough to see it all happen from the very beginning. 🥹✨

My passion for everything True Colours really grew during the DIY SOS build, where I got stuck in helping with painting, decorating and setting up our current base. 🛠️🎨

I then volunteered for a few months before the opportunity came along to officially join the True Colours Theatre team — and I haven’t looked back! 🎭

Being part of True Colours is such a privilege. 💛 Seeing the difference the charity makes to the children, young people and families we support, watching confidence grow and seeing people achieve things they never thought they could is incredibly rewarding. 🌟

And to now be working alongside my mum in the charity she started all those years ago makes it even more special. 🥹💛

I’m so excited to see what the future holds for True Colours Theatre and can’t wait to see the charity continue to grow and make a difference to even more people! 🚀🎭

🎭✨ MEET JAMIE! ✨🎭

Next up in our Meet the Team series is our amazing Jamie! 💙

Jamie studied Theatre & Performance at Northumbria University, achieving a fantastic High 2:1 👏🎓 With dreams of continuing his studies with a Master’s in Acting in the future, Jamie is already well on his way to pursuing his dream career as an actor! 🎬⭐

Jamie started his True Colours journey as a volunteer… and we clearly couldn’t let him escape! 😂 So, we took him on full-time! 💙

From the moment Jamie walked through our doors, he felt right at home at True Colours. 🥰 Being autistic himself, Jamie loves connecting with our children and young people, sharing his experiences and reminding them that we can all achieve anything we put our minds to. 🌈✨

When he’s not at True Colours, you’ll usually find Jamie performing in musicals and shows, working towards his dream of becoming an actor. 🎭🎤

And apparently… Jamie is available for autographs after classes. ✍️😂
Small fee applies… because even future stars have bills to pay! 💷🤣

💜 MEET TONI! 💜

Today we’re introducing you to our lovely Toni! 👋✨

Toni is a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant with an amazing 10 years of experience working with children, including children with SEN and additional needs, within a school setting. 🧩💫

But Toni’s experience doesn’t just come from her career… she’s also a mum to 3 children of her own, with 2 of them having additional needs. ❤️

This gives Toni a personal understanding of the joys, challenges and experiences that families of children with additional needs can face. Her passion is to help others feel supported, included, valued and, most importantly, understood. 🫶

Toni brings so much experience, compassion and enthusiasm to everything she does, and we’re so lucky to have her as part of the True Colours Connect family! 🌈💜
