Meet my student Yu Sato, you might know him from the esteemed London based Cumbia band Malphino, where he plays maracas and gaita.

Yu is originally from Japan, and he is my first ever Japanese student. His love & passion for Cumbia music runs deep, and because of his music connections, he gets to hang out with lots of Spanish speakers, so he thought it would be about time to learn Spanish properly, we've been having 2-3 lessons weekly and his improvement has been very significant since day 1.

Here you can see Yu Sato in Sevilla, where he will stay for a bit, I love my lessons with him, he is such a good student and is always really positive and enthusiastic about his lessons! 🌟💚

GCSE results are in and I got this text today. I have been working with my student Rafi doing two or three lessons weekly for about 8 months and he's got the results he expected in his High Tier Spanish exam. Congratulations! I hope everyone is happy with their results ✨️✨️✨️✨️

Did four Spanish lessons this morning on Zoom, I didn't get the chance to have breakfast but I had a green tea pot with me to keep me going. But, I don't mind, as I love my job! And now getting ready for my afternoon lessons 🎧.

Last week I celebrated that I passed my Master's degree in one of my favourite cocktail bars in Newcastle. Special thanks to my family and friends for their unconditional support, it's been tough but I hope this makes me a better teacher & translator! ✨✨✨✨✨
