☀️🌿 Sunshine, smiles and so much outdoor fun at Sammy Bear Day Care today! 🌿☀️

We made the most of the beautiful weather by spending lots of time out in the garden, where the children enjoyed a whole range of exciting sunshine activities! 🚗🫧 Our car wash activity tray was a huge hit, with lots of splashing, scrubbing and bubbly fun. 🎨 We also got creative with water painting on giant floor paper, making wonderful large-scale masterpieces in the sunshine!

Our little explorers loved getting hands-on with our animal oat tuff tray, discovering different textures and animals through sensory play, and there was plenty of music and dancing too as the children shook, tapped and jingled our musical instruments in the fresh air. 🐾🎶

A special proud moment today was seeing our older children becoming super sunshine stars by helping to rub in their own SPF sunscreen — learning how to keep their skin safe while enjoying the warm weather independently! ☀️

This week, we have also had some builders out to fit some lovely grass and a gated area to the garden. The children have enjoyed exploring the new area and can’t wait to spend more time there.

What a fun and exciting day we’ve had learning all about plants with our 2–4 year olds 🌱✨

The children discovered how plants grow, what they need to survive, and why sunshine, water, and care are so important. There was lots of curiosity, questions, and excitement as we explored together!

Then it was time to get hands-on… and a little bit messy! 😄 The children loved scooping soil, filling their pots, and carefully planting their very own strawberry, tomato, and bell pepper seeds. We talked about how tiny seeds can grow into something amazing, and everyone took great care in planting theirs.

There were lots of smiles, muddy fingers, and proud little faces as we finished our planting! 🌿🍓🍅

Now begins the most exciting part—waiting, watching, and caring for our plants as they grow. We can’t wait to see the first little shoots appear and continue our plant-growing journey together 🌼💚

Today at Sammy Bear Day Care, we had a wonderful adventure! 🐻✨

We took a trip on the bus to Ouseburn Farm, and the children had such an exciting day exploring and learning together. The bus ride itself was a big highlight, with lots of smiles, chatter, and excitement along the way! 🚌💛

At the farm, the children developed their holistic skills as they communicated and socialised with one another, sharing their thoughts and excitement about all the animals they saw. We spotted pigs, chickens, ducks, swans, goats, and even some adorable new baby lambs! 🐑🐖🐓

The fun didn’t stop there – the children were fascinated by snakes, lizards, colourful parrots, and even a large snail! 🐍🦜🐌

It was a fantastic day full of learning, laughter, and curiosity. The children have been full of smiles from start to finish, and we are so proud of how they engaged with the experience and with each other. 🌟

The children showed high levels of involvement and engagement during St Patrick’s Day activities. They explored resources independently, demonstrated creativity, and maintained focus, showing the characteristics of playing and exploring and active learning.

Today we couldn’t help but explore the snow with our little people.

We extended the ‘real’ snow inside with a flour activity mixed with cotton balls and other materials.

The children investigated and used new words such as ‘squishy, melting, frozen’
