Kidslingo French Tyne West

🥳 Happy birthday to me !! 🥳 Having the day off to have lunch with my mother in law (whose birthday it is too) and my daughter (who was 19 yesterday!)

🛍️ We went shopping today - to buy fruit & vegetables and then drew what was in our basket ! 🍏🍉🍌🥦🥔🫛

🇫🇷 Had a great day helping a colleague with an enrichment day near Darlington today.

🇫🇷 The whole school dressed up in French colours and participated in lots of different activities.

🇫🇷 Our Kidslingo session was a Visit to Paris and all the children went through passport control, then onto an aeroplane, landing in Paris. They visited the ice cream shop, the souvenir shop and market and wrote some postcards. There was even a French café to visit and talk about what French food they might like or dislike.

🐛🦋 As we’ve been learning about fruit it was the perfect opportunity to practice numbers, colours and fruit and feed the hungry caterpillar.

❓Did you know in French the title of the book is translated as “The caterpillar who makes the holes?” “La chenille qui fait des trous” 🇫🇷

🍏🍓🥦🥕 Recapping fruit and learning about vegetables in today’s French clubs.

🗣️ We focused on verbal skills today playing O’s & X’s (have to say the fruit or veg before the square footage is yours ) abs then making sentences with cards about likes & dislikes.

❓Some children moved on to asking each other about their likes and some made longer sentences using conjunctions.

🍎🍋🍇 We’ve had a great week recapping our new words for fruit in our new Food topic. We’ve used silly dances & voices, a magnet fish game and a hide & seek game.

😃☹️😍 We’ve then been learning how to say which fruit you like / don’t like / love & hate and I hope the children have shown you their fab pictures.

🎵 Our very funny fruit song is called J’aime Les Fruits by Alain le Lait - look it up on YouTube and have a dance !

☀️☔️🌩️ Learning some weather phrases today in junior club through a match up game, a song and the ‘fruit salad’ game.

🌵🗻🌊 We also learnt about some different habitats and what kind of weather each one might have.

🇫🇷After 8 years teaching fun French to lots of lovely children, it's time for me to move on. I'm very proud of the business I have built in the local area and would love to pass it on to someone who will continue to inspire children to love languages and grow the business further.

😀A great opportunity for someone who loves French (could be expanded to include Spanish), who wants to be their own boss and have more flexibility in their lives. Established links with local schools and preschools.
