This event is aimed at children aged 18 months - 4 years and will be taking place on Friday 24th April at the Great North Museum: Hancock . We hope to see your there!

We have a few spaces left for our upcoming Mouse Tales sessions on Tuesday 14th April.

Mouse Tales sessions include a Storytime followed by songs, museum objects and play activities. These sessions are aimed at under 5s and their families.

For families who may require a quieter environment we also currently have availability for our Relaxed Mouse Tales sessions on Tuesday 7th and 14th April.

We have a some remaining spaces left for our Relaxed Mouse Tales sessions.

Relaxed Mouse Tales is a session aimed at families who may require a quieter environment to enable them to participate. This could include participants with autism, adhd, learning disability, anxiety or other medical conditions which mean sitting or concentrating for long periods of time without moving; or coping with larger groups of people can be difficult.

The session will be most suited to participants who are learning at an age of 5 or under. There will be an interactive story, and songs followed by some simple exploratory play experiences which relate to the story theme. There will also be an opportunity to feel a museum object. A visual story will be provided via email 5 days before the event.

Your free ticket will include early entry to the museum before general opening hours.

9am - 9:45am
Access to the Museum Galleries. This is to enable you to enjoy a quieter experience of the museum galleries before the session begins.

Here's a little sneak peek of us setting up for our Baby Event tommorrow! (20/11/25)
There will be lots for you and your baby to explore across the whole Great North Museum: Hancock. Lots of organisations are coming together from all over the city to celebrate our littlest visitors! Some activities will have limited availability on the day which you can book (for free) on arrival, but there will be much more to keep you busy throughout the galleries and exhibition halls. The event will is aimed at under 2s and their families, and will be taking place between 10am - 4pm. Hope to see you there!
