What’s on at St Martin’s Centre?

Our September What’s On Guide is here, with all of our regular groups, classes and activities taking place throughout the week!

From Early Years sessions and social groups to crafts, exercise and wellbeing activities, there’s plenty happening at the Centre and lots of ways to get involved.

Apps for All📱

For the next four Mondays, the team from Digital Voice will be here offering friendly support with using your phone or tablet, including everyday apps such as the NHS App and local bus apps. Drop in between 12:00–2:00pm.

You’ll see these friendly faces at our Early Years sessions here at St Martin’s Centre, supporting children in NE6 aged 0–5 and their families across our community.

Whether you’re already a familiar face or thinking about joining us for the first time, the team are always happy to welcome you, answer any questions and help you get involved 💙

Apps for All starts on Monday 7th September!

For the next four Mondays the team from Digital Voice will be offering friendly, informal support with using your device and everyday apps.

Whether you need help using the NHS App, local bus apps, or there’s something else on your device that you’d like some support with, drop in and speak to the team.

We’re excited to be getting involved with Pride in Place, a 10-year programme putting local people at the heart of shaping the future of their neighbourhood.

£20 million has been allocated to the Walker neighbourhood and we want to hear from local people about what they value about the area, what matters most to them and what they would like to see in the future.

Our new Pride in Place display is now up in our reception area, with three ways to have your say:

⭐ Vote for the priorities that matter most to you
💡 Share your thoughts and ideas on our community board
📋 Complete our questionnaire to tell us more

We’ve already had some brilliant conversations and contributions from our 'In Good Company' group, but we want to hear from as many people in the local community as possible.

A big thank you to Michael from Tesco Express on Chillingham Road, who dropped by today with four crates of food for our community pop-up pantry in The Avenue Coffee Shop! 🛒

We really appreciate the generous donation, which will help us keep our pantry stocked and available for people in our local community 🙌🏼

Ready for a new term 🎒🍎

Our nursery doors reopen tomorrow and we can’t wait to welcome back all of our children and families!

A very warm welcome also goes to the new children and families joining St Martin’s Centre Nursery for the first time 🧡

The Nursery team have been busy getting everything ready for another term full of learning, playing and exploring.

Our new monthly Walking Group starts on Wednesday 16th September, in partnership with Benfield Park Medical Group and Heaton Road Surgery! 🌿

Join us on the 3rd Wednesday of each month for a gentle, level walk lasting around 30-40 minutes, starting and finishing at St Martin’s Centre.

We’ll finish up with a well-earned hot drink back at the Centre ☕

A lovely day out with our ‘In Good Company’ group 🌊

We headed to Whitley Bay, where some of the group ventured across to St Mary's Lighthouse while others enjoyed a wander and took in the beautiful views ⛅

We then stopped at Fisherman’s Bay for a delicious lunch, before heading to Tynemouth for a wander around the shops to finish off the day 🐟

Thank you to Yvonne and the Community Transport Passenger Service for making the day possible! ⭐
