Another year of our KS2 after school sports provision has come to an end. Thank you to everyone who attended our club this year, we have had record numbers this year participating. The idea of this club is to not only meet new pupils from different schools, but to help the transition between primary school and secondary school, as well as to have access to a variety of our facilities. This term focussed on tennis. The pupils learnt the key skills to allow them to play a game of tennis. In our last session we finished with a doubles ladder competition. Yesterday was our final Key Stage 2 Cricket after school club. This term students learnt the fundamentals to play a game of cricket, throwing, catching, fielding, bowling and batting. Well done to the winning team in the final game. Next term we are staying with our summer sports and focussing on Tennis. The tennis season continued yesterday, with our Year 9/10 boys taking on Marden High. There was some really good performances from our boys, with some close rallies and games. Next up all of our teams will be facing Kings Priory.

The tennis season was up and running yesterday with all of our teams in action. The girls came up against RGS and our boys faced St Marys. There was some very good tennis on show, with some close matches being played, especially from our Year 7 and 8 boys’ team. Our Year 9 and 10 teams are playing Marden High next week. Lets "smash" it - hopefully the warm weather continues!

Yesterday was the final session of our Key Stage 2 after school sport provision. This term we focussed on basketball. Each week the pupils learned the key skills to be able to play a game of basketball such as passing, shooting and dribbling. We finished off with a round robin, full court competition. Well done to our winners, who were undefeated. Next term our provision turns to summer sports, starting with cricket. This week our KS4 Boys Badminton team competed at the regional finals in York at the Railway Institute. The boys represented themselves very well and gained some valuable badminton experience. After playing some very tough and competitive games they came 5th overall. Well done boys, you should be very proud of yourselves!

JPA KS3 Girls Badminton team travelled to Thornaby this week to play in Regional finals, facing schools from Yorkshire, Darlington, Northumberland and Durham. The girls played some very close and competitive games against very tough opposition. Overall, the girls finished 6th. They should be very proud of their achievement. Well done!
