These are branded water bottles we give to clients after treatments like Japanese Head Spa and facial treatments. On the surface, it’s a simple gesture but from a business point of view, it’s doing much more.

Once a client leaves the salon, the experience doesn’t stop at the door.

They take this with them.
They meet a friend.
They get asked, “Where have you been?”
And just like that, a conversation about your business starts without you being there.

That’s branding.

It’s not about being flashy or expensive.
It’s about being memorable.

The little touches:
• How clients feel after their treatment
• What they leave with
• What reminds them of your business later

Those things create word of mouth without you having to ask for it.

Strong brands aren’t built on logos alone … they’re built on experiences people want to talk about.

This is the kind of thinking I work on with my coaching clients:
how small, intentional changes can quietly elevate your business and set you apart.

Because when the experience is right, people do the marketing for you.

Today I had a cancellation for a Japanese Head Spa appointment. The treatment room was already set up, everything was ready so instead of seeing it as lost time, I used it.

I filmed content.

This is the difference between being busy and working smart. Spare pockets of time are opportunities when you know what to do with them.

You don’t need extra hours in the day you need a plan for the ones you already have.

Content, admin, planning, education…
Those quiet gaps can move your business forward if you use them intentionally.

It’s not about doing more. It’s about making better use of what’s already there. This is exactly the kind of mindset shift I help hair and beauty business owners make.

So when I started this new venture I promised myself I’d stay as authentic as possible even sharing my own things I need to work on. I’ll not call it being negative I’ll call it being truthful! I want other business owners to relate to me not to think where am I going wrong? Why am I not living this “Instagram” lifestyle?

In this industry, we’re so used to pushing through long days, full diaries, constant messages, always “on”. But the truth is, you can’t pour properly into your business or your clients if you’re running on empty.

If you’re not at 100%, your decision making suffers.
Your energy drops.
Your business feels heavier than it should.

That’s why I’ve taken a few days out recently not to step away from my business, but to reset and get back to 100%.

Something as simple as daily dog walks, fresh air and stepping away from screens has made a huge difference. Sometimes it’s not about doing more it’s about slowing down enough to breathe and reset your head.

Because my clients deserve my best.
My salon deserves my best.
And my coaching clients deserve clarity, focus and support and not burnout.

Taking time out isn’t weakness.
It’s leadership. 🫶🏼

Just six days after our first strategy meeting and one of my clients is bringing in these results!

• 69 new followers that’s 69 new people seriously considering booking, if they’re following they’re interested!

• A huuuuuuuge 3.3k% increase of content interactions!

Now that’s what you call a successful first week.

Another first session done and a really good one.

This morning I met with Zhara from Aesthetic & Beauty clinic based in Wylam, who’s officially signed up to work with me and it was such a positive start.

Zhara already has a booking system in place, which is great. Our focus now is helping her find her feet with it and use it to its full potential, rather than letting it just sit there underused.

We covered:
✔ How to fully integrate her booking system into her day to day business
✔ Adding the booking link directly to her business page to save hours of back and forth messages
✔ Setting up an automated welcome message that sends clients straight to the booking app

Simple changes but ones that immediately create better boundaries, save time, and improve the client experience.

These first sessions are always about clarity, structure, and confidence. No overwhelm. Just practical steps that actually make life easier.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how Zharas Beauty & Aesthetic Salon grows over the next few months 🙌🏼

Last week I met up with Drew Scott Hair our first meeting for business coaching, my main task for him was to reintroduce himself on his business page and he’s nailed it! Most interaction on his business page in years, most likes ever on a post, new client bookings and much more to come!

Stop advertising certain treatments you’re literally being shadow banned at at huge risk at losing your accounts!

Don’t believe me? I know three practitioners including myself this week that have had their accounts restricted by META and may possibly lose them all together.

I can’t even fully write this post educating you all as it could flag and cause me restrictions. You may think you’re being clever using other words but trust me that’s a big no too. Yesterday I received a restriction on an old business page I had for that exact reason and had to delete posts from a couple of years ago I’d made before knowing about this.

Ask yourself this …. Are those people bringing you income and putting food on your table?

Trust me if you want to grow your business you need to put your face out there, you need to talk about your successes sometimes even your failures.

Here’s the truth though:
People don’t connect with logos, grids or perfectly organised feeds. They connect with people.

The ones that don’t connect with you through these posts aren’t the clients that shouldn’t be in your chair (they aren’t your people). The others that are sat mocking are usually the ones that have lots of spaces in their own diaries or are sat secretly thinking I wish I had the balls to do that 🤷🏼‍♀️

Each time we get a new client through the door we ask how they come to know about the business and a lot of new clients are coming through from my personal Tik Tok account which absolutely baffles me 😂. An account where I go live a couple of times a week on early mornings sat with no make up on, unbrushed hair in my pyjamas talking about my normal life outside of the business.

People connect with people!

Now I’m not saying turn your business page in to a personal diary letting people know what you’ve had for tea but every now and then post yourself. I could post a set of the most gorgeous brows one of the girls have created it might get 20 likes sometimes even less, I posted a photo of us going out last weekend that got over 300 likes. That photo has now put my business page back on peoples feeds 🙌🏼

Up until early last year, our salon branding was loud and pink. I made the decision to change it and it worked. Male treatments are at an all time high, and subtle branding changes can make a big difference. Masculinity is still very much a thing, and I’ll show you how small tweaks can increase bookings.
