A huge thank you to everyone who joined Frog class for their community assembly. All of the children loved working on activities with their parents and carers and learning all about minibeasts. 🦋🐛

Thank you to our wonderful FOGS group and to everyone who has supported the group this year. They have kindly made a donation into school to buy lots of materials to make UV resources for use in our Explorer and Adventurer classes. Each class will be getting a selection of materials that glow brightly in the dark. We’ve had new UV lights installed in one of our rooms and soon lots of children will be able to access stories, maths and number and singing activities in the UV room where everything glows in the dark and is a magical experience. UV work is a fabulous resource to use with children especially if they struggle to maintain focus, eye contact and concentration.
We’re excited to start making lots of new and exciting resources … thank you FOGS 💚

🦆🦆What an exciting time we have had at Gibside school these past two weeks! We have had a duckling experience- watching the eggs hatch and taking care of them. Kangaroo class has been the main duck helpers and every other class has been to visit and stroke the ducks. They have been very loved by everyone and it has been a great experience for pupils and staff!🦆🦆

🦔Hedgehog children have been involved in a project with some clowns, and they came in to visit the whole class. It was brilliant and everyone had a great time!🦔

Robin had a great time exploring messy play resources during their class assembly. It was lovely to share this experience with parents and we made some fantastic sea-shell sculptures, explored ‘waves’ in the blue shaving foam and hid shells and made sand-castles.

🦒What a busy summer 1 giraffe class have had! We have been loving the bike track and being outside for our morning exercise. We have begun this term promoting independence and working on washing our faces after lunch. The children have enjoyed making sandwiches in cookery like Paddington bear, although ham and cheese was a preferred choice more than marmalade!🦒

🦏We had our Community Assembly for Rhino class today. We had so much fun looking at all things Paddington bear linking to our topic this half term. We created Paddington bear face crafts, made delicious marmalade sandwiches, looked at travelling around with beebots and filling and emptying marmalade jars. Thank you to everyone came to support and well done Rhino class! 🦏
