Tomorrow is a big day for thousands of young people receiving their GCSE results.
Whatever the envelope says, remember results are just one step in your journey, not the final destination.
Whether you’re celebrating, reconsidering your next steps, or simply deciding what comes next, there are opportunities to build the future you want.
Good luck – you’ve got this!

Engineering Her Way – from conversation to action.
When we launched our first Engineering Her Way forum in June, our goal was simple: bring together employers, educators, and partners to inspire more girls and young women to consider engineering apprenticeships.
Just a few months later, we're already turning ideas into action - what started as a conversation is quickly becoming a collaborative movement across the North East.
Since our first meeting, we've:
🔹 Strengthened our partnership with North Tyneside Learning Trust and Connexions to challenge engineering stereotypes and inspire more young women.
🔹 Started developing hands-on engineering sessions with a local Girl Guiding group, If successful, we'd love to expand this model across the Northeast through girl’s football teams and other community groups.
🔹 Joined forces with Northeast Women in STEM, signed up as mentors, and look forward to supporting the next generation of female engineers.
🔹 Begun planning engineering activities with local schools to encourage more girls to explore STEM careers.
🔹 Launched our new Engineering Academy, with an ambitious goal of achieving a 50:50 male-to-female learner split by September 2027.
This progress wouldn't be possible without the enthusiasm and collaboration of everyone involved. Thank you to every employer, school, organisation, and individual supporting Engineering Her Way.
This is only the beginning.
If your organisation is passionate about encouraging more girls into engineering, we'd love to hear from you. Whether you can provide role models, support events, offer mentoring or simply share your experiences, together we can create more opportunities and challenge perceptions.

🔧 Meet Joe – building a career through an apprenticeship.
When Joe joined White Bros in 2023 as a Level 3 Metal Fabrication apprentice, he was taking the first step towards a skilled career. Just two years on, he's producing high-quality stainless steel fabrications for the pharmaceutical and food industries while gaining valuable industry-recognised welding qualifications.
Combining college learning with hands-on experience has helped Joe build the skills, confidence and experience to take on real projects as part of a supportive team.
💬 "I'd highly recommend an apprenticeship. You gain real experience, earn qualifications, and build your career while working on live projects." – Joe
His employer sums it up perfectly:
⭐ "Joe has been a fantastic apprentice and a real asset to our team. His attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn have been excellent throughout."
👏 Well done, Joe, we're excited to see where your career takes you!

Tyne North Training's Giving Back Initiative!
We're proud to be working alongside North Tyneside Council as part of a series of volunteer days, bringing together our apprentices and staff to give something back to the local community.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our learners to build teamwork, develop new experiences, and make a real difference beyond the workplace.
We're looking forward to sharing updates over the next academic year and showcasing the great work our apprentices and team get involved in. Watch this space!

What our learners taught us: Confidence is built, not given. 🛠️
When Dylan first started developing his practical skills, every new task was an opportunity to learn, improve, and grow.
Using workshop equipment like a band saw isn’t just about learning how to operate a tool. It’s about building the confidence to take on challenges, solve problems, and trust your own ability.
Our learners remind us that confidence doesn’t appear overnight. It comes from having a go, making progress, and realising “I can do this.”
Seeing Dylan develop those skills and grow in confidence is what makes our jobs so rewarding.
Because every expert was once a beginner!

Are 16-year-olds leaving school truly work ready?
After listening to our local engineering employers, the message is clear – many young people need more support to develop the skills, confidence and workplace behaviours employers are looking for.
That's why Tyne North Training, in partnership with Tyne Metropolitan College, has launched our Engineering Academy.
🔧 Hands-on engineering projects
🤝 Real work experience
💼 Employer-led learning
🎯 Guaranteed employer interviews
🚀 A clear pathway into engineering apprenticeships
We're delighted that our first cohort are already signed up and ready to start this September! We can't wait to share their journey, achievements, and success stories with you later this year.

Feel Good Friday! 💚
Recently, our CEO, David Collins, had the pleasure of attending a Women Into Work recruitment event.
It was a fantastic opportunity to meet people in the community, discuss the recruitment challenges they face, and highlight the exciting career opportunities available within the engineering sector.
At Tyne North Training, we're passionate about breaking down stereotypes and showing that engineering is a career for everyone. From apprenticeships to technical roles and long-term career progression, the industry offers rewarding opportunities for people from all backgrounds.
A huge thank you to everyone who organised the event and to those who took the time to speak with us. Together, we can continue to inspire the next generation of engineering talent and build a more diverse, skilled workforce.
