What better way for our Business T-Level students to practice their presentation and pitching skills than to stand in front of The Great Run Company and share their ideas Dragon’s Den style? 🐉
The brief? Attract more 16-18 year olds to the Great Run… and be innovative!
Congrats to our winners Leigh-Anne, Savannah and Olivia for their Great Scare Run concept 👏

✨ A huge congratulations to Newcastle College University Centre student Lamin Gibba! ✨
Lamin recently welcomed hundreds of guests to Boiler Shop for Shy Bairns Get Nowt – a spectacular fashion show showcasing the latest collection from his brand, Jerry J Clothing.
The event celebrated creativity, culture and Lamin's Gambian heritage, while also giving students from across Newcastle College the chance to gain valuable real-world industry experience. Our Digital Arts students captured the evening through photography, while Performing Arts students took to the runway with live dance performances 🙌
What an incredible achievement and a fantastic example of student talent in action. Well done to Lamin and everyone involved in making the event such a memorable success 👏

🎥 Guest speaker alert!
This morning, our Art & Design learners had the opportunity to hear directly from actor, photographer and author Paul Stevenson, who joined us at Newcastle College during to introduce a screening of film I Swear.
Also known for his children’s book My Tics and Me, Paul is passionate about sharing lived experiences and raising awareness through his creative work.
After the screening, Paul hosted a Q&A with our Level 2 and 3 students, sharing honest insights into his journey and what it really takes to succeed in the creative industries.
“This film is not just entertainment. It is a reminder of the power of lived experience, resilience and community – a story that deserves to be told, and one that will stay with you long after the credits roll.”
A brilliant opportunity for our learners to connect industry experience with their own creative ambitions while engaging with an important awareness topic.

Our first year Engineering Apprentices have been putting their design skills to the test creating fully working 3D-printed wind turbines that can power a light bulb 👏
Designed using SolidWorks and brought to life on our X1C Bambu printers, these projects show what happens when creativity meets technical know-how.
A special shoutout to Ben Davison, Cole Taylor and Fynlay Watson (pictured) for their standout work 🙌
