2nd UKADR conference Summary:

The DDS had the opportunity to present a poster presentation and engage at the UKADR conference held at the University of Bristol. We, as a society, would like to expend our thanks all the organising committee for organising this great conference. No pressure on our university next year.

A couple of pictures of the society with there posters are shown below.

On a final note, I personally extend my personal heartfelt thanks to our fantastic delegates Blaine, Cara and Jamie, for been outstanding representative to the society.

Good Morning Everybody,

The DDS is pleased to announce its Easter Raffle. The proceeds of the raffle are going to be split: 90% to the DDS to finance it future awareness days and conference trips to further highlight the need of 14-18 education within Disasters. In addition, 10% will be going to EcoSwell, who are fantastic NGO based in Lobitos, Peru. If you wish to find out more, please visit there page.

As most of you probably know by now, it is election week here at Northumbria University. We would like to encourage all our society members to get involved, as give you a chance to to have your say on how our SU is ran.

For this election, the society committee is endorsing society member and MSc DM+SD student Blaine Rutherford for the role of "Vice President Postgraduate".
