This week Year 1 have been using positional language to describe where an object is in maths. We worked with partners to use the words up, down, left and right to explain how to get to an object.

This week in Nursery, we had lots of fun learning all about capacity through hands-on water play! The children enjoyed pouring, tipping, and measuring water using a variety of containers. We investigated how many small bottles it would take to fill different sized containers- making predictions, testing ideas, and celebrating our discoveries along the way! This activity helped develop early maths skills such as estimating, counting and understanding ‘full’, ’empty’, and ‘half full’, all while building confidence and coordination and confidence.

We would like to encourage as many children as possible to try our FREE breakfast club available from Reception to Year 6. Next week, we will be hosting 'Breakfast club activity week'. Please see the poster for our daily themes- including a raffle with prizes! If you would like your child to attend, there is no need to sign up, simply bring your child to the main school office. Children must be brought to school by an adult unless they are in Year 6, when they can walk to school by themselves for breakfast club. Children must arrive by 8:30am.

To further support their current topic "Electricity", Year 4 visited the Centre for Life this week. Here they enjoyed a workshop all about circuits, before having the opportunity to explore the rest of the centre. The children had a fantastic time and were a credit to our school! Well done Year 4.

Our Early Years children had a wonderful visit from the farm today! We met and petted a beautiful giant grey rabbit, Elvis the goat, a sheep and a chicken. The children loved brushing the sheep and goats, helping to care for them. We were also treated to a fantastic display from a very clever dog showing off some amazing tricks!! A fun, hands-on experience for everyone with lots of smiles all round!!
