WHAT A RESULTS DAY! 🎉
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate another fantastic set of results at Newcastle Sixth Form College! 🥳👏
This year, we’ve seen improvements across our overall results, a record number of students completing their A Levels, and some truly outstanding individual achievements. 📚✨
🎓 9 students have confirmed places at Oxbridge - our highest number ever!
🏫 Hundreds of students are also progressing to their first-choice universities, with destinations covering an incredible range of subjects - from Philosophy and Media to Medicine.
And university isn’t the only destination. Our students are also heading into apprenticeships and the world of work, taking with them the knowledge, skills and confidence they’ve developed during their time at Newcastle Sixth Form College. 💙
A huge congratulations to every single student - you’ve worked incredibly hard, and today is a celebration of everything you’ve achieved. 🎉
We’re so proud of you! ❤️
Here’s to your next chapter! 🚀

📍 Fieldwork in Action!
Our Geography students recently visited South Shields and Ouseburn to collect valuable data on regeneration projects as part of their NEA preparations. This hands-on experience gave them the chance to apply the skills and knowledge they’ve developed throughout the year, practise using clinometers and explore how places to evolve over time.
And of course, no field trip is complete without a well-earned ice cream!🍦☀️

🏆 European Champions! 🏆
A huge congratulations to our very own NSFC student as she has achieved incredible success outside the classroom as part of her cheerleading team, Power L3 U16!
Competing at the European Championships in Portugal, Amber and her team delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 1st out of 19 teams and bringing home a gold medal and the title of European Summit Champions🥇👏🏼
This achievement is even more special as it marks the highest score ever recorded by a North East team at this level. Ambers commitment, teamwork and determination are truly inspiring, and were incredible proud to celebrate her success.
Well done Amber - you’ve shown what can be achieved through hard work, passion and perseverance 🎉🙌🏼

✨ What an unforgettable week for our NSFC Turing 2026 group!
From the moment our students and staff stepped into Gratton Private Secondary School, they were welcomed with open arms - from joining lessons to an incredible choir performance that set the tone for a truly special experience. Watching our students connect through music and culture was a powerful reminder of how education brings people together across the world. 💫
They then travelled into a rural community to an all-inclusive primary school, where our students rose to every challenge. From teaching across all year groups to leading a class of 101 nursery pupils - many with limited English - they showed outstanding adaptability, energy, and professionalism.
Throughout the week, our students have built meaningful connections, embraced new cultures (even picking up some Zulu along the way!), and truly stepped outside their comfort zones. We are incredibly proud of how positively they have represented Newcastle Sixth Form College. 💙
This journey is about more than teaching - it’s about growth, confidence, and making a real impact. And the best part? There’s still more to come…

🌍🦁 Safari moments our students will never forget…
Our 2026 Turing group took an incredible trip to the Hluhluwe Game Reserve today - and what a day it was!
They were lucky enough to spot 4 of the Big Five 👀 (with the leopard keeping us on our toes… for now).
From an amazing variety of wildlife to breathtaking landscapes, it was a real privilege for them to see these animals thriving in their natural habitat 🌿
One of the biggest highlights? Just when they thought they might miss out on seeing elephants… They suddenly found themselves being escorted down the hill by a whole herd!
A long day, but an unforgettable experience our students will be talking about for years to come 💚

Over the next two weeks, they'll be diving into exciting activities, team building and unforgettable experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime 💫
We can't wait to share their journey with you... So make sure you're following along and keep your eyes peeled for updates!

🌅 Duke of Edinburgh Silver Expedition Success!
From Monday 1st until Wednesday 3rd June, 7 NSFC students took on the final challenge of their Silver DofE Award - and what a journey it was💪🏼
After setting up camp and cooking together on the first evening, students kicked into action on Tuesday with a 12km hike across the stunning Northumberland countryside. Using maps and route cards, they navigated from Winshields to Hadrians Wall, taking turn leading the way and supporting each other through every step 👣
👏🏼 Incredible teamwork, resilience and leadership on display - we’re so proud of you all!

We were delighted to welcome Roman, an English and History teacher from Switzerland, to Newcastle Sixth Form College as part of a job shadowing programme.
During his visit, Roman joined English Literature, English Language and History lessons, delivered fantastic workshops on Frankenstein (set in Switzerland!), supported students with coursework and took part in faculty meetings and Oxbridge talks. An inspiring week of shared practice, ideas and global perspective - and an absolute pleasure to have as part of the team.
We’re proud to support professional development and international partnerships that enrich learning for both staff and students 🌟

🏆 National Maths Success!
We’re incredible proud of our students who completed in MEI’s Further Education Maths Challenge - a national competition supporting post-16 learners to build confidence and skills in Maths 📐
Out of 92 colleges and 40,000+ students, just 20 colleges reached the National Final… and Newcastle Sixth Form College placed an amazing 4th overall 🎉
A huge well done to everyone involved 👏🏼
