Our Future Skills: Vision for Work Programme for those aged 19-24 years starts on Monday 28 September 2026 at Westgate College.
Are you:
• Struggling to get into the job market?
• Need some help with presenting yourself at job interviews?
• Need some real-life experience to put onto your CV?
• Need to establish a personal career plan to move you forward?
The Future Skills: Vision for Work programme is designed for young adults aged 19–24 who may need extra support with confidence, emotions, mental health, or moving into adult life and work. It offers a more supported and practical route into employment.
The structured programme focuses on helping you build confidence, independence, and emotional strength, while developing the key skills you need to move into employment.
This 16 week programme is designed to help you build skills, confidence, and experience for your next step. You’ll attend three days a week, for 5 hours each day, with a mix of learning, hands-on experience, and personal development.
The programme is built around four core strands:
• Work Experience and Employability Development
• Vocational Element
• Functional English and Maths for Work
• Preparation for the World of Work and Life

Join our free arts and crafts course at Newburn Memorial Club.
Running every Thursday from 10am until 12 noon, starting on 17 September, you will learn drawing, jewellery making, painting, printmaking and sewing.

Newcastle City Learning is looking for someone with relevant experience who can deliver outstanding communication and marketing support. This is a temporary part time role for 6 months to provide cover for the existing postholder.
A high standard of organisational skills and written and oral communication skills are essential along with the ability to pay attention to detail and work to deadlines and timescales.
You will focus on creating and publishing accessible content across all NCL social media channels, and managing day-to-day website updates, whilst serving as the first point of contact for teaching staff and managers for their marketing requirements.

Do you need to update your essential Digital Skills, or are you thinking about taking a Digital Skills course?
We have short initial assessment sessions taking place in early September at Westgate College (1 and 8 Sept), Heaton Centre (3 and 10 Sept) or Gosforth Library (4 and 11 Sept).
