We’re into a busy training week on our new build ahead of getting the keys very soon.

Today we had the pleasure of sharing a dedication for our new school library. Throughout the build project we have been supported and guided by colleagues from Newcastle City Council. One person in particular has been at our side throughout: Mr Pete Trumper. We’ve benefited hugely from Pete’s support and guidance. This dedication is our way of saying thanks. llyfrgell is Welsh for library - Pete is a proud Welshman!

Our new school building has these lovely colour manifestations in the glazing to welcome you and guide the children to different parts of the building; all helping to create a sense of familiarity for their new surroundings.

A great team effort: over the last three days, with help from Lee and his removal crew, we have moved over 850 crates and various pieces of furniture into Benton Park 2.0. Our old building is now completely empty and the yard at the rear gone.

That’s Benton Park all packed and ready to move to our new school building in September. Here’s one last look around our current school building. 😢

Come along tonight between 6–8 pm as we open the doors to Benton Park Primary School.

Before the building officially closes over the summer, this is a chance to say goodbye, relive your school days and share old memories of Benton Park.

We would love to see past pupils, families, staff and friends of the school there.

Anyone under 16 should be accompanied by an adult and for everyone’s safety, children will need to remain with their accompanying adult at all times throughout the evening.

* Please note that parking on site is extremely limited, so any available spaces will be reserved for visitors with access or mobility needs. *
