🌟 Celebrating Our Amazing Children 🌟

Yesterday marked National Children’s Day UK, a special moment to recognise and celebrate the happiness, wellbeing and futures of all children.

At Simonside Primary, we feel incredibly proud of each and every one of our pupils. Our children bring kindness, laughter, creativity and determination into school every day, and they truly are at the heart of everything we do. 💙

This week is also SATs week for our Year 6 pupils – a time when they show all they have learned throughout their primary journey.
We couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, resilience and the way they are approaching this challenge with positivity and confidence.

Remember, SATs are just one small part of a much bigger picture – what truly matters is the effort, growth and character our children demonstrate every day. ⭐

👏 Well done to all of our children – you are what makes our school so special.

This week, we are celebrating the incredible teachers who make our school such a special place.

Every single day, our staff go above and beyond—supporting, inspiring and nurturing our pupils to be the very best they can be. From sparking a love of learning to providing care, encouragement and guidance, their impact reaches far beyond the classroom.
Teachers play a vital role not only in education, but in shaping confidence, character and futures.

We are so proud and grateful for everything they do.

💚 Thank you to our amazing team—you truly make a difference every single day.

Children’s Mental Health Week
📅 9th–15th February

Next week, we will be celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week, with a special focus on the theme Belonging — helping every child feel valued, included and connected within our school community.

✨ Our aims for the week are to:

· Strengthen children’s sense of belonging in school

· Promote positive relationships and inclusion

· Create safe spaces where children feel confident to express themselves

· Encourage children to reflect on what helps them feel valued and supported

💬 In the classroom, children will be exploring questions such as:

· Where do you feel you belong?

· Who makes you feel included?

· What makes our classroom a good place to be?

Children will share their thoughts and feelings through drawings and group discussions, celebrating the relationships, spaces and experiences that make our school such a special place for everyone.

💛 We look forward to a week of reflection, connection and positive wellbeing.
