A highlight of our summer in South Shields too! the final day of cooking and handing out awards to some of our most exceptional mini chefs!

Children worked together to cook meals from scratch every day that fed all 60 people for lunch.

Not only have the children become natural and confident cooks but the consistency of different foods and vegetables being available every time has seen those children who are more reluctant to try new foods build up the confidence the give it a go and find a whole new world of food that they like, feel safe and familiar and that they are now happy to eat at home.

Supporting our local fishmongers and took a visit to Phils Plaice on the Quay in to get some super fresh cod that one of our groups transformed into their super popular fish finger sandwiches.

The kids loved hearing about where the fish had come from, what type of fish it was and diligently cooked up 6kg of fish diners to make lunch for everyone at their club!
