Byker Primary School

Children across Byker are supporting an art project to be displayed at Newcastle Library. We have been making butterflies with messages symbolising hope.

A huge well done to all of our Year 6 children. We have been blown away with your resilience and determination to never give up, even when questions were hard.
Today we celebrate this with food and fun.

Half term is on the horizon and we've joined together with some great community organisations to bring you an afternoon of free family fun!

There will be lots of nature themed activities including a bug hunt, planting workshops and nature crafts plus sports activities and lots more!

Thank you to all of the parents who stayed behind afterschool and attended our first World Book Night as supported by Literacy Trust. It was lovely to see so many families reading with their children, completing book themed crafts and joining in the book swap event.
Parents and children have asked if this is something we will be doing again, and yes this is. We will continue to keep you updated for an end of year event.

We want to say a huge thank you to all that purchased Easter Raffle Tickets this week to win 4 possible Easter basket prizes. We were able to raise just over £400 which will be put back into a summer fun session for the children to across school. The school council will speak to each class and look at what summer fun activities they may like to do.

Year 2 had a fantastic visit from our local fire engine yesterday! The experience linked to our History learning on the Great Fire of London, as the children explored how firefighting has changed since 1666. They loved comparing past and present and had great fun trying out the equipment!

Thank you to the parents in Year 3 who joined us for Easter crafts this week. The children had lots of fun and we hope you did too.
